Under the support of the National Endowment for Democracy, a Constituency Dialogue organized by ACTIVISTA brought together youths, women, and elders of Foni Bondali Constituency for a meaningful engagement with Hon Pa Dembo Sanneh the National Assembly Member.

The dialogue created a platform for community members to openly discuss key issues affecting the district, raise concerns, and directly ask questions to their representative. From development challenges to youth empowerment and community welfare, voices were heard and perspectives shared in a spirit of unity and accountability.

This kind of engagement is a reminder that democracy works best when the people are actively involved and leaders remain accessible to those they serve.

The Committee would like to take this rare opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the just concluded Foni Bondali District Youth Convergence. It was indeed a remarkable and historic gathering that has set a strong foundation for youth engagement and development within the district.

The Committee can proudly state that the success rate of the program was exceptional almost impossible to be achieved by first-time organizers. This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support, commitment, and collaboration of district stakeholders, the youths, and the District Youth Committee (DYC).

Special appreciation goes to the District Chief, OMAR COLLEY, Hon. Pa Dembo Sanneh (NAM Foni Bondali Constituency), Abdoulie Badjie (Ward Councillor for Bantanjang Ward), Mariama Krubally (Ward Councillor for Mayork Ward), Dr. Demba Sabally (Minister for Agriculture), Ebrima Jallow (NYP Foni Bondali), all Alkalos of Foni Bondali villages, and the dedicated thematic area facilitators, whose contributions played a vital role in making this convergence a success.

The importance of this five day gathering cannot be overstated. It served as a powerful platform that brought together youths and key stakeholders under one umbrella to engage in meaningful dialogue on issues affecting young people in the district. It created an avenue for sharing ideas, identifying challenges, and collectively proposing practical solutions that will drive development and empowerment.

Furthermore, the convergence provided an opportunity to equip young people with valuable knowledge and skills in areas such as leadership, entrepreneurship, peacebuilding, and community development. It also strengthened unity among youths, encouraged active participation in governance, and fostered stronger relationships between the youth and decision makers.

Looking at the purpose and outcomes of the convergence, I can confidently say it was a total success. It has not only inspired hope but also laid the groundwork for a more empowered, informed, and united youth population in Foni Bondali.

Once again, thank you all for your immense support and dedication. Together, we continue to build a better and brighter future for our district.

The ongoing Foni Bondali District Youth Camp continues to make significant progress as activities unfold successfully. Yesterday marked the official commencement of classes, signaling a key phase in the camp’s objectives of empowering young people within the district.

Campers actively participated in a series of engaging and impactful training sessions designed to build their capacity in various areas. These sessions included leadership training, where participants were equipped with essential skills in decision making, teamwork, and responsibility. In addition, entrepreneurship sessions exposed the youths to innovative ideas, business development strategies, and the importance of self reliance in today’s economy.

The camp also placed strong emphasis on sports administration, highlighting the role of sports in youth development, discipline, and community engagement. Furthermore, sessions on peace and conflict resolution provided participants with practical knowledge on maintaining harmony, resolving disputes amicably, and promoting unity within their communities.

The active involvement and enthusiasm displayed by the campers reflect the relevance and importance of the initiative. As the camp continues, it is expected that participants will not only gain knowledge but also develop the confidence and mindset needed to contribute positively to the growth and development of Foni Bondali District and beyond.

The Foni Bondali District Youth Convergence marks a powerful and historic step toward youth driven development in the district. Bringing together key stakeholders such as Omar Colley (District Chief), Hon. Pa Dembo Sanneh (NAM), Abdoulie Badjie (Ward Councilor for Bantanjang Ward), Ebrima Jallow (NYP), village Alkalos, and Dr. Demba Sabally (Minister of Agriculture represented by Juldeh Mballow) Youth leaders from Foni Jarol, Foni Kansala Chief for Foni Bintang, just to name a few created a rare platform where ideas, opportunities, and responsibilities were shared collectively.

The convergence created an important space where youths were able to express themselves and feel included in matters that directly affect their future, helping to build confidence and a sense of responsibility among them. The presence and engagement of leaders like Omar Colley, Pa Dembo Sanneh, Abdoulie Badjie, Ebrima Jallow, and the representation of Dr. Demba Sabally through Juldeh Mballow strengthened the relationship between authorities and young people, promoting trust, transparency, and open dialogue. It also encouraged unity among the youths across the district, as over 100 young people came together with a shared purpose of development and progress. Through the discussions and interactions, participants were exposed to opportunities, leadership roles, and the importance of active participation in community and national development. The donations made during the convergence further motivated the youths and provided support that can help turn their ideas into meaningful actions, while also contributing to nurturing a new generation of leaders within Foni Bondali.

The success of this first ever convergence goes beyond attendance it reflects the commitment of leaders like Omar Colley, Pa Dembo Sanneh, Abdoulie Badjie, Ebrima Jallow, and Dr. Demba Sabally (represented by Juldeh Mballow) alongside the energy of over 100 determined youths ready to shape their future.
