Binta, a PhD Candidate at Okayama University, continues to make us proud through her outstanding contribution to forensic science research. Her latest publication showcases the excellence, dedication, and global impact of Gambian women in STEM.

We are especially proud that Binta was awarded her scholarship through the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) with support from Women in STEM Gambia, a milestone that has contributed to her academic and research journey.

Women in STEM Gambia proudly celebrates Tekanyi Kumba-Banna, a member of our network and a fourth-year Computer Engineering student at Ahmadu Bello University , Nigeria, on her remarkable achievement of winning the Grand Prize at both the Regional and Global Finals of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 in Shenzhen, China. She was also honored with the Women in Tech Award.
