The Bakoteh Borehole Sub-Ward Committee (BBSWC), on April 26th, 2025, organized a vital community Medical screening exercise aimed at enhancing access to basic health services and increasing awareness of residents’ medical conditions.

As part of our commitment to service delivery, we have checked over 150 community members. The following health services were provided:

1 . Hypertension screening
2. Diabetes screening
3. Educational sessions on the signs, symptoms, and preventive measures to avail them from risk of illness.

This initiative was designed to promote health awareness, encourage early detection, and prevent individuals from unknowingly living with underlying medical conditions.

Health is a good merit, once prioritized, you live a healthy lifestyle. As a youth led association, We remain steadfast on bringing medical check up and social service program to promote good health.

Unity. Action. Responsibility.

Yesterday, together, we took responsibility for our community.

Bakoteh Borehole Sub Ward Committee in collaboration with Root and Fantanka carried out a successful community cleansing exercise, proving that a clean environment starts with us.

Change begins with collective effort. Action over words.

Community Cleansing Exercise

Bakoteh Borehole Sub-ward community in collaboration with Fantanka and Roots association of Bakoteh is set to conduct a cleansing exercise in the community of Borehole scheduled to take place on Sunday, 8th February, 2026, aimed at improving sanitation and environmental protection in the area.

The committee hereby invites all residents; Ladies and gentlemen of our beloved Borehole, to show support by showing up and rendering their efforts in cleaning our community.

Remember, happiness is derived from giving back, so, give back by offering your service to the community.

We visited the Memory House on Saturday, a powerful and emotional space of remembrance and learning.

The experience reminded us of the importance of human rights, accountability, and justice, especially for the youth. Remembering the past is essential to ensuring it never happens again.

We commend ANEKED for preserving this important history.

Stand For Justice.

CALL TO ACTION 🚨

Our members alongside other protesters who protested peacefully at the PURA building have been illegally arrested and detained. Their only “crime” was standing up for justice and demanding accountability in our country.

The Constitution of The Gambia guarantees freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. No government or authority is above the law, and the continued detention of these youths is unlawful and unacceptable.

We believe they will be taken to court after the 72-hour limit. That is why TOMORROW, Monday 25th August, all roads lead to WESTFIELD.

Tomorrow, Monday August 25 at 11am will mark 72 hours since their detention. For that matter, we expect that they will be taken to the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court at Westfield. We, GALA, Team Gomsa Bopa and EFSCRJ wish to call on all citizens to come to show solidarity with the protesters.

This is bigger than those arrested, it is about defending our rights, our freedoms, and our future. ✊🏾
