Yesterday, we held a validation workshop for the Creative Industries Roadmap, developed under the EU YEP – Tourism and Creative Industries.

The roadmap aims to position the creative industries as a driver of jobs, innovation, cultural expression and economic growth.

It outlines key actions to strengthen institutions, improve market access, support creatives and deepen connections between culture, creativity and tourism.

Today, stakeholders from government, the private sector and industry associations are gathered to validate The Gambia Tourism Roadmap 2025–2029, developed under the EU-funded EU Youth Empowerment Project – Tourism and Creative Industries.

The roadmap will help shape a more competitive, inclusive and sustainable tourism sector, with a strong focus on creating opportunities for MSMEs, women and young people, while strengthening investment, market access and institutional support across the industry.

With over 600 recorded bird species, expert local guides and diverse habitats, The Gambia has much to offer bird lovers from around the globe.

The EU YEP – Tourism and Creative Industries in partnership with Gambia Tourism Board is excited to support the participation of the Gambia Birdwatchers Association at the upcoming Global Birdfair in Lyndon Top, Rutland, UK.

This provides the association an opportunity to showcase The Gambia's rich birdlife and connect with the global birding community.

Through our Joint SDG Fund-supported project, we are documenting and celebrating youth and women who are driving innovation, sustainability and resilience within local food systems.

Today, we put a spotlight on Adama Jallow.

Adama is the founder of Jallow Jerry Healthy Foods.

Driven by a passion for hygienic and nutritious food products, she processes and sells products such as cassava arraw, findi, peanut butter and other locally made foods.

Today, her products are stocked in major supermarkets across The Gambia.

Through her business, Adama is creating jobs, promoting local food production and inspiring women and young people to venture into agribusiness.
