NACCUG successfully concluded a three-day Supervisory Committee Training held from 2–4 September, bringing together 19 participants from five credit unions.
The training equipped Supervisory Committee members with practical skills in oversight, internal controls, compliance, risk management, reporting, and governance to effectively discharge their responsibilities and strengthen accountability within their credit unions.
By investing in the capacity of supervisory leaders, NACCUG continues to support stronger governance, sound management, and sustainable credit union operations.

African Confederation Of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations

The Government of the Republic of Kenya has signed a Host Country Agreement (HCA) with the African Confederation Of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA), formally granting ACCOSCA Diplomatic Status under the Privileges and Immunities Act (Cap. 179).
The Agreement was signed in Nairobi by H.E. Dr. Musalia W. Mudavadi, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, and George Ombado, Executive Director on behalf of ACCOSCA. The signing ceremony was witnessed by David Mategwa, Vice Chairperson ACCOSCA Board, Grace Watsiera Head of Operations ACCOSCA, alongside other distinguished government officials.
This achievement represents a major institutional advancement for ACCOSCA and a strong affirmation of our growing role as Africa's leading cooperative financial association. The diplomatic recognition enhances ACCOSCA's standing and provides a robust framework for deeper engagement with governments, development partners, international organizations, and other key stakeholders across the continent and globally.
Importantly, this recognition positions ACCOSCA to more effectively advance its mission of strengthening SACCOs and credit unions as instruments of financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development throughout Africa.
