BAKAU YOUTH COMMITTEE JOINS NATIONAL YOUTH INNOVATION SUMMIT 2026

The Bakau Youth Committee, led by its Chairperson, Nyima Maria today joined youth from across the country at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Centre for the 2026 Youth Innovation Summit.
The summit, one of the country’s biggest youth platforms, brought together President Adama Barrow, government officials, and youth leaders from across The Gambia to discuss opportunities, challenges, and practical solutions for young and innovative minds, under the theme “Empowering Young Minds to Build Sustainable Solutions for a Better Gambia.”
Discussions at the summit touched on irregular migration and its toll on young Gambians, as well as the need to equip youth to contribute meaningfully to national development. In his remarks, President Barrow reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting youth-led initiatives across the country.
The Bakau Youth Committee reaffirmed its own commitment to engaging its members in sustainable, community-driven solutions in line with the summit’s theme.
