n is for more than just music. This is our opportunity to create a night of music, hope, unity and love. Our charity festival is a type of musical benefit performance featuring local musicians and other performers that is held for a charitable humanitarian purpose. Raising awareness about an issue such as misery in Africa and uplifting a nation. We organizers strive to make this event as big as the tragedy at hand, thus hoping to gain legitimization and massive support that way. The people who send the message for collective action are essential to our “Music For A Cause - Charity Festival” effectiveness. Meaning that such events produce leaders who inspire collective action with belief in the “power of the people” to change the world. Benefit concerts, therefore, have the potential to raise funds for a cause because of the para-social interaction that occurs between the performing celebrities (the leaders) and the spectating fans (the people). THE MISSION...
Our mission and goal is to establish a self sustaining reliable community that will be equipped with a modern solar powered hydroponics farm, a music and arts center including a record studio, an all herbal medical center, a youth and education center and many many more to uplift the people and the country as a whole. We are striving to make these facilities available for everyone - free of charge - regardless who you are! Music is a great tool to achieve much greater things when we come together as one and work hand in hand for a better future. Our “Music For A Cause” charity event will be all about the establishment of that project to make Gambia a better place. It will give people opportunities to also achieve their dreams and goals and one main factor about this project is to provide fresh food that’s available 365 days of the year to affordable prices. Our vision and dream is to feed all people through a portfolio of sustainable hydroponic farming methods, creating enduring value and opportunities for all. Why hydroponics over traditional farming? In the first place, it uses 80 percent less water than traditional farming. It takes less space in that vertical pipes can extend upward several meters or more, this way of farming is the modern way and the best so far hence we don’t need soil and huge land to start it. It’s going to be a vertical farming system, completely free of the use of chemicals etc... We can grow six times more product not using soil. Add to this, growing time and harvesting is greatly reduced, in some cases from two months to one month, allowing an expedited market turn-around and earlier return. Also, harvesting itself is more convenient. One advantage of hydroponics is that women—with a traditional role of managing a garden—can maintain a system with little effort. Our goal is to feed Gambia and Africa as a whole, that’s our biggest dream. And also our dream is that everything will be available for free in that project, so that everyone has the same opportunities, without classification, status etc... each one will be treated the same no matter who you are and what your background is. Everyone who participates and/or is volunteering in that project will get daily fresh food like vegetables and fruits for free from our hydroponics farm. We also want to set up a youth and education center that the children will have a place to go and learn something about life and nature...
Everyone who wants to be a part of the movement and wants to support us by volunteering or even for donations towards the project, is highly welcome! We are working on this project for many many years and now it’s time to make it become reality! Unity is strength, together we can be the change we all want to see in this world!
