On the Tuesday, 25th August 2026, the Yendi Youth Parliament-YYP proudly joined the Northern Regional Youth Parliament to participate in the historic maiden National Youth Parliament Mock Sitting held at the Parliament House of Ghana as part of National Youth Month 2026.
The sitting was held under the motion:
“Digital Responsibility, Consent and Online Safety.”
The motion provided young parliamentarians with an important platform to deliberate on the growing challenges surrounding digital responsibility, privacy, consent, online abuse, and the need for young people to navigate the digital space safely and responsibly.
We were particularly proud to have two distinguished members of our House, Hon. Mohammed Kamil and Hon. Peace N-kpebebe N-jomon, represent the Yendi Youth Parliament as part of the Northern Regional delegation.
The sitting demonstrated the importance of creating spaces where young people can engage with issues affecting their lives, develop their public speaking and leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to national conversations.
We commend the National Youth Authority and the Parliament of Ghana for creating this important platform for youth participation, civic education, and leadership development.
As the Yendi Youth Parliament, we remain committed to nurturing informed, confident, and responsible young leaders who are prepared to contribute to the development of our communities and Ghana as a whole.
