Through our Promoting Positive Parenting, Child Protection and Ending Child Marriage initiative, we are engaging families and communities to create safer environments where children can learn, grow and dream.

Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.

AMPLIFYING VOICES. PROTECTING THE VULNERABLE. BUILDING SAFER COMMUNITIES.

For four weeks, the Upscaling of Child and Vulnerable Protection Initiatives project used community radio in Tatale-Sanguli District to discuss four critical issues:

🔹 Child Marriage
🔹 Youth Substance Abuse
🔹 Elderly Care
🔹 Disability Inclusion

These conversations created space for communities to learn, speak and reflect on protecting vulnerable people.
By bringing these issues to the airwaves, we are strengthening awareness, challenging harmful practices and encouraging communities to take action.

These four weeks created space for communities to learn, speak, question and reflect on issues affecting vulnerable people.
By taking these conversations to community radio, the project is helping to strengthen awareness, challenge harmful practices and encourage communities to take responsibility for protection and inclusion.

🤝 Because lasting change begins when communities are informed, engaged and empowered to act.
The conversation may end on air, but the responsibility to protect continues in our homes and communities.

Building Stronger Families, Safer Communities, and Brighter Futures for Every Child

The Yendi Child and Vulnerable Protection Centre (YCVPC) successfully held a Community Engagement on Positive Parenting and Child Protection at Bunbon, bringing together over 200 participants, including parents, traditional and community leaders, teachers, elders, and PTA executives.

The engagement provided an important platform to strengthen our collective responsibility in creating safe, nurturing, and protective environments where every child can thrive.

A key highlight of the session was the promotion of Child Rights Clubs in schools. Participants were introduced to the clubs' vital role in empowering children to understand their rights, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and become active advocates for their own protection and the well-being of their peers.

The community was also sensitized on the importance of the Child and Vulnerable Protection Policy, emphasising that safeguarding children and vulnerable persons is everyone's responsibility. To reinforce this commitment, copies of the policy were distributed to participants, equipping community members with the knowledge needed to promote child protection and respond appropriately to concerns.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Die Sternsinger for funding support and all participants for their active engagement and commitment to safeguarding children in Bunbon.

Planting Trees, Growing Responsible Leaders

The Yendi Child and Vulnerable Protection Centre (YCVPC), through its Child Rights Clubs, is promoting environmental responsibility among children through a tree-planting initiative.

The activity provided an opportunity for children to take action in protecting the environment while learning that climate action is also a child rights issue. A clean, safe, and healthy environment is essential for every child to grow, learn, and thrive.

Through the Child Rights Clubs, YCVPC continues to empower children to become active participants in creating positive change within their communities.

Together, we are nurturing young environmental champions and building a greener future—one tree at a time. 🌱💚
