Porducare Touchlife Advances Back-to-School Campaign in Conflict-Affected Communities

Porducare Touchlife successfully implemented the second phase of its Back-to-School Campaign in selected communities within the Sawla–Tuna–Kalba District of the Savannah Region, providing educational support and motivation to learners affected by conflict and socio-economic challenges.
The initiative, which builds on earlier community engagement and advocacy activities, aimed to improve access to learning resources and encourage children to remain committed to their education.
The team began the exercise by delivering two chalkboards to Damiyiri School to support teaching and learning. Educational materials were also made available for distribution to learners in the community.

At Gbiniyiri, pupils at the primary school received exercise books, school bags, pencils, and erasers to support their academic work. Although heavy rainfall and the lingering effects of conflict prevented some children from attending school on the day of the exercise, educational materials were set aside and entrusted to teachers for distribution upon their return.
The intervention was later extended to students of Gbiniyiri Junior High School after it was realized that additional learning materials were available. Each student received exercise books, a sports bag, and a pencil, enabling the project to reach more beneficiaries than originally planned.

Beyond the distribution of educational materials, the project incorporated learner mentorship and adolescent health education. Students were engaged on issues including menstrual hygiene, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), teenage pregnancy, and the importance of remaining focused on education despite challenges. Special attention was given to vulnerable learners, including a pregnant student who was encouraged to continue her education and offered further support when needed.

The Back-to-School Campaign reflects Porducare Touchlife's commitment to ensuring that children in vulnerable and conflict-affected communities have access to quality education and the support they need to succeed.
Through partnerships, community engagement, and sustained advocacy, Porducare Touchlife remains dedicated to restoring hope, promoting educational participation, and creating opportunities for every child to learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Together, we are building a future where every child has the chance to learn, heal, and succeed. 🌱📚✨

Celebrating excellence, leadership, and the power of the girl child. 💜✨

The Rising Girl Leader Recognition Awards honored 10 outstanding girls from participating schools who have demonstrated strong leadership, academic dedication, and positive influence among their peers. Beyond recognition, each awardee first took part in the LeadShe leadership training ensuring they were not only celebrated but also empowered to grow even further.

Facilitated by Portia Dumba, and supported by the Municipal Girl Child Coordinator (GES – Wa Municipality), the initiative reinforced the importance of confidence, discipline, and education in shaping future female leaders.

Each girl received a tailored support package to aid her educational journey—because when we recognize and invest in girls, we inspire a generation to lead.

LeadShe: Empowering girls to lead, believe, and rise. 💜✨

At the Piisi Cluster of Schools, the LeadShe Project brought together 100 girls for an impactful leadership session focused on building confidence, dignity, and a strong sense of purpose. Through interactive discussions, mentorship, and practical learning, the girls were encouraged to see themselves as future leaders in their schools and communities.

Facilitated by Portia Dumba, the session created a safe space for girls to speak, learn, and grow. A powerful keynote from the Municipal Girl Child Coordinator (GES – Wa Municipality) further reinforced the importance of education, discipline, and leadership in shaping their futures.

LeadShe is more than a project—it is a movement that is equipping girls with the confidence and mindset to dream bigger and achieve more.
