Stakeholders Align on a Prevention‑First Approach in Upper West Region.
Teen Talk Ghana brought together traditional authorities, youth leaders, Queen Mothers, district officials, Fulbe representatives, and security institutions in Wa for a collaborative dialogue on strengthening social cohesion and addressing division and drug use in Lambussie and Sissala West.
Supported by the Coastal States Stability Mechanism (CSSM) and the Government of Ghana, stakeholders reviewed the initiative’s goals, refined criteria for the Inter‑Ethnic Youth Peace Network, and reaffirmed their role in championing youth‑led dialogue and community outreach.
Discussions highlighted the importance of rebuilding trust between youth and security agencies, prioritising prevention and mentorship, and advancing community‑driven solutions to local tensions, substance misuse, and cross‑border risks.
Partners agreed that this effort builds on earlier peace and resilience work, reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthen social cohesion and youth participation in peacebuilding.
