The campaign season is officially underway! 🦁

The Tema Community 25 Lions Club is proud to witness a vibrant and engaging campaign period as we prepare to elect our next Club President for the 2026–2027 Lions Service Year.

We have two strong and inspiring candidates in the race:

πŸ”Ή Lion Andre Amenuku-Agble

Both candidates have begun sharing their vision, ideas, and plans for the future of our club β€” and we are excited by the energy, passion, and commitment being demonstrated.

This is what Lionism is about:
βœ” Leadership
βœ” Service
βœ” Active participation

We encourage all members to:
β€’ Engage actively during this campaign period
β€’ Review the ideas presented
β€’ Ask questions
β€’ Make informed decisions

Let us keep this campaign respectful, inspiring, and focused on service, as we collectively shape the future of our club.

🌟 A Memorable 5th Anniversary Special Business Meeting 🌟

The Tema Community 25 Lions Club was honoured to host PDG Lion Helen Maku Obeng, PMJF, GLCF as part of our 5th Anniversary Lecture Seriesβ€”and what an impactful and inspiring session it was!

The evening beautifully reflected the true essence of Lionismβ€”who we are, what we do, and how we serve. Beyond our business meeting, we celebrated several key milestones:

πŸ”Ή Induction of new Lions and Leo members into our growing family
πŸ”Ή Recognition of excellence through Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF/PMJF) honours
πŸ”Ή A powerful and insightful session on Lions structures, roles, and governance
πŸ”Ή A special moment of appreciation for PDG Helen Maku Obeng, under whose leadership our club was chartered five years ago

Her return to engage, guide, and inspire us in our 5th year made the occasion even more meaningful.

It was truly an evening of learning, celebration, fellowship, and pride in service. 🦁✨

The Tema Community 25 Lions Club, in collaboration with Lions International District 418 and the United Nations Country Office in Ghana, successfully hosted the Lions Day with the United Nations (LDUN) at Achimota School under the theme:

β€œEducation and Equity: Every Child’s Right, Our Collective Responsibility.”

With over 500 students in attendance, the session was nothing short of inspiring.

πŸ’¬ The highlight of the day was a powerful debate by the Achimota School Debating Club on the motion:
β€œEducation Equity Should Take Priority Over Equal Treatment in Ghana’s Education System.”

The students delivered exceptional arguments, critical thinking, and leadershipβ€”reminding us that the future is indeed in capable hands.

🎀 The engagement was further enriched by a distinguished panel featuring:
β€’ Lion Ebo Prah-Manson, PMJF – First Vice District Governor
β€’ Dr. Mathias Awonnatey Ateng, PhD – United Nations
β€’ Ms. Angela Kwashie – United Nations
β€’ Dr. Anthony Adjei – Achimota School

πŸ“š As part of our commitment to education, a data projector was donated to the school to support teaching and learning.

Beyond the debate, one thing became clear:
πŸ‘‰ There is a growing need to deepen awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among young people.

And this is just the beginning.

We are proud to be part of shaping conversations around education, equity, and leadershipβ€”and we look forward to taking this initiative to even more schools.

Together, we serve. Together, we lead.

πŸ’›πŸ¦ WALKING FOR HOPE. WALKING FOR LIFE. πŸ¦πŸ’›

On the 14th of February, Tema Community 25 Lions Club and Tema Community 25 Leo Club proudly joined over 200 Lions and Leos across District 418 for the Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk from 37 Military Hospital to Accra Mall.

The event was officially addressed by:
πŸ”Ή First Vice District Governor, Lion Ebo Prah Manson, MJF
πŸ”Ή District Childhood Cancer Coordinator, Lion Ignatius Afrifa, MJF

With a police es**rt and brass band leading the way, we embarked on a powerful 5km advocacy walk β€” carrying placards, sharing brochures, engaging motorists and pedestrians, and raising awareness about early detection and support for children battling cancer.

πŸ“’ Estimated Impact: 3,000 people reached

Our Club was represented by:
🦁 4 Lions
🦁 7 Leos

At Accra Mall, branded soft toys were presented to the World Child Cancer Organization (WCCO) for distribution across their 9 treatment hubs in Ghana, bringing comfort and hope to children undergoing treatment.

The energy was electric.
The unity was powerful.
The cause was greater than us all.

As we continue into the second half of our service year, we encourage all members to actively participate in both Club and District service activities.

Together, we serve.
Together, we fight childhood cancer. πŸ’›

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations Lion Robert Mawuko Dumakor, PMJF! πŸŽ‰

During our 5th Anniversary Special Business Meeting, we proudly celebrated a historic milestone β€” the presentation of our club’s *first Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship (PMJF) award*.

Lion Robert Mawuko Dumakor, PMJF, was formally presented with his pin by PDG Lion Kate Baaba Hudson, PMJF, in recognition of his generous support to LCIF. Notably, he received his MJF on 14th November 2025 and qualified for his PMJF just three days later β€” a remarkable achievement.

Lion Robert, we commend your generosity and commitment to service. You have set a strong example for us all. Let us all consider supporting LCIF and working towards becoming an MJF or PMJF. Congratulations once again! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ¦
