Our reunion was certainly not as we planned. Happy to see you but sad you have to go through treatment again. Our Juliet had a relapse.
đź“· Slide our first meeting in 2019 and now.
After a courageous battle involving six rounds of chemotherapy and extensive surgery, followed by additional rounds of chemotherapy.
Juliet finally reached a point of hope. Following a three-year remission—during which she received a prosthetic eye and returned to school with a fresh start—the unthinkable has happened.
Just days into the new school term this year, a rapid growing swelling appeared. Despite never missing her quarterly check-ups, we received the devastating news that the cancer has returned, more aggressive and larger than before.
The Current Situation
Juliet is back at Korle-Bu, fighting once again. While she has already begun new rounds of chemotherapy funded by the Wesoamo team, her road to recovery is long and costly.
Current Status: Ongoing chemotherapy to shrink the tumor.
Next Steps: Additional chemo cycles followed by major surgery.
Financial Need: Over GH₵10,000 is required to cover specialized medications, advanced scans, and surgery.
How You Can Help
As a Wesoamo adopted child, Juliet relies on the kindness of the community. We are determined to see her through this treatment, but we cannot do it alone.
