Action Voices is our flagship project that aims at empowering citizens to engage with their local authorities in Ghana. Action Voices is one of the flagship projects which we are piloting at the La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly in Accra. The project seeks to provide a limitless platform for engagement between citizens and their local authorities to promote social accountability, popular participa
tion and transparency within Ghana’s local governance system. The project adopts innovative and accessible communication tools, making all voices count in decisions which affect the lives of the people. We collect relevant information from duty bearers and share with the citizenry and accordingly gather complaints from the citizenry and share with duty bearers for action. We employ innovative platforms such as toll free line, voice blast and SMS messaging. The project is being funded by Making All Voices Count, an international initiative that supports effective and accountable governance in Africa and Asia with a grant of 39,000 Pound Sterling for a period of 12 months ending in November 2016.
