💖 Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters: Breast Health for Our Teen Moms 💖
This October, 2025, we're embracing the theme of "Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters."
This is a reminder that every person's health experience is valid, and that includes yours.
We know thinking about breast cancer can feel scary, and you might think it's something only older women need to worry about.
But here is an important fact we all need to share: Breast cancer can happen to teenagers and young women, too.
While it is rare, it is not impossible. Your story matters, and so does your health journey. This is why we need to talk about being breast aware, no matter your age.
What You Can Do: Stay Alert, Report Changes
You are the best expert on your own body. We encourage every single one of you to become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel.
* Be Alert: Take notice of your breasts regularly—in the shower, when getting dressed, or when lying down. Look for and feel for anything that seems unusual for you.
* Report Any Abnormality: If you notice any changes, don't ignore them or assume they'll go away. Talk to your doctor, a nurse, or a trusted healthcare professional right away.
Things to look out for:
A new lump or thickening in the breast or armpit.
A change in the size or shape of the breast.
Puckering, dimpling, or a rash on the skin of the breast.
A change in the nipple's appearance (like it suddenly turns inward) or any unusual discharge (fluid).
Persistent pain that isn't connected to your period.
Your health matters, and being proactive is a powerful part of self-care. Let's empower each other to be aware, speak up, and take charge of our well-being.
