As we come to the end of 2025, we pause to reflect on a year of learning, service and impact.
We are deeply grateful to every volunteer, partner, health professional, collaborator and community member who believed in the vision of OncoAid Foundation and supported our efforts throughout the year. From cancer awareness and screenings to community education and collaborative outreach programs, every activity reaffirmed our commitment to building a future where access to care, support and hope is not a privilege but a right.
This year showed us the power of collaboration. Working alongside hospitals, organizations, advocates and volunteers strengthened our reach and reminded us that meaningful change is achieved together. Each conversation held, each screening conducted and each life touched represents progress toward a cancer-free future.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with renewed purpose and optimism. With our foundation now fully registered, we are ready to expand our impact, deepen partnerships and deliver even more targeted cancer awareness, prevention and support initiatives across communities.

On 22nd November 2025, OncoAid Foundation joined Give Basic Needs and other partners to support a free medical outreach at the Give Basic Needs Tamale office. The event brought essential healthcare services directly to the community and recorded an impressive turnout, with many residents arriving early to participate.

Volunteers, medical professionals and partner organizations worked together to provide a wide range of services, including general medical screening, health education and women’s wellness support. Sanitary pads were also distributed to promote menstrual hygiene and dignity among girls and women.

Screenings were conducted for Malaria, Typhoid, Hepatitis B and C, and HIV. The results revealed notable health concerns within the community: • 3 positive HIV cases
• 1 Hepatitis C case
• 6 Malaria cases
• 25 Typhoid cases

The rise in Typhoid cases reflects ongoing national concerns often linked to unsafe water, poor sanitation and contaminated food. Community members are encouraged to boil or treat drinking water, wash hands regularly with soap and ensure food is well cooked and properly stored.

This outreach aligns with OncoAid Foundation’s commitment to promoting community health through education, early detection and collaborative action. We are proud to have contributed to this impactful initiative and remain dedicated to supporting efforts that improve access to health services in Northern Ghana.

On 8th November, OncoAid Foundation partnered with The Double Badge to organize a health walk and cancer screening session. The event took place at the ADB main office premises in Tamale, Ghana.

Participants took part in a health walk and received a range of screening services, including:

Breast screening for both men and women

Cervical cancer screening for women

Prostate cancer screening for men

Beyond the screenings, participants were also educated on breast, cervical and prostate cancers, focusing on risk factors, early warning signs, prevention and the importance of regular check-ups.

OncoAid Foundation continues to promote health awareness and early detection, ensuring communities have access to essential health information and screening services.

On 25th October, OncoAid Foundation partnered with Aisha Hospital and other collaborators, including Twisco, My Hereafter Project, Radio X-tra and more, to conduct a Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening event. A total of 225 attendees were screened and attendees received education on breast cancer, covering causes, symptoms, stages, myths, prevention and treatment options.

To ensure everyone could participate, translations were provided in Dagbani and sign language interpretation was available for attendees with hearing difficulties.

The event featured a breast cancer survivor sharing her story, inspiring hope and encouragement among the participants. Additionally, discounted mammography was offered for follow-up screening, allowing attendees to confirm their results and ensure early detection where necessary.

OncoAid Foundation, in collaboration with Triple S Foundation, organized a breast cancer awareness program at Yong Dakpemyili R/C Junior High School on October 24th. We educated students on debunking myths surrounding breast cancer, highlighting that it affects both genders. The session covered risk factors, signs, and symptoms, as well as prevention strategies and the importance of healthy eating.

The students also learned self-examination techniques and were screened for breast abnormalities. A few students showed unclear signs and were advised to visit the hospital for further evaluation.

This was OncoAid Foundation's first project, and it was truly remarkable. We're proud to spread awareness and promote early detection. Early Detection Saves Life!
