SEPTEMBER FOUR FORMATION COMPETITION

On Friday, we held our September edition of the Four Formation Competition, bringing together our learners to put their skills to the test.

For now, the competition focuses on Reading, Speaking and Listening, and we are happy to see steady improvement, especially in their confidence and ability to express themselves.

Hopefully, soon we will add Writing to the competition as well, making the Four Formation truly complete.

THIRD QUARTER PARENTS MEETING

Yesterday, 24th September, we held our Third Quarter Parents Meeting, an important opportunity to reflect on the progress of our beneficiaries and share our plans for the remaining months of the year.

We took parents through the progress made so far, discussed what lies ahead, and sought their continued support as we work together to give our beneficiaries the best possible environment to learn, grow and thrive.

We are deeply grateful to all the parents and guardians who made time to attend despite their busy schedules. Your presence, trust and continued support mean a lot to us.

At PANKO, we believe parents are our biggest stakeholders. These meetings are more than just updates—they are moments to renew our commitment to parents and guardians and reaffirm the shared responsibility we have in supporting the children.

AUGUST ICT GRADUATION

For our August ICT session, we featured the Flamingo Cluster as they took their very first steps into the world of computers.

For many of them, this was their first time ever using a PC. They learned how to type and identify some basic computer hardware—and, most importantly, they had so much fun doing it!

It was beautiful to see their curiosity, excitement, and willingness to learn.

We are helping our children build the digital skills they need for the future.

PANKO PRESCHOOL – COHORT 3

A new journey has begun!

On Monday, we officially welcomed our new group of young learners as Panko Preschool Cohort 3 began.

It was wonderful to see the children settle in, learn, and begin getting to know one another. We are excited for the days ahead as we create a safe, fun, and nurturing space for them to learn and grow.

AUGUST FOUR FORMATION COMPETITION

Yesterday, we held our August Four Formation Competition, and it was another successful and exciting session!

We are especially proud of how much our beneficiaries are improving each month. Their confidence, communication, and willingness to learn continue to grow, and it encourages us to keep doing more.

The goal is not always about who comes first—it is about learning, building confidence, and becoming better than before. We are proud of every contestant for their effort and progress.

PANKO Joins the One Home Journey

On Tuesday, 25th August, we had a very impactful workshop on the One Home Journey, facilitated by Prof. Alexander and Dr. Rama of Home for Humanity.

We began with a visit to the Kulmang community, where we met with the Chief and members of the community, whose children make up over fifty percent of PANKO’s beneficiaries.

The Chief and elders received the message of peace and also pledged to become ambassadors of peace within their community.

The workshop brought together 25 children of PANKO, members of staff, and special guests, Reverend Sister Esther of MASEL Sisters and Rosemond of Peace Corps Africa.

PANKO was also recognized by Home for Humanity for its transformative impact on children in Ghana and its contribution to collective and planetary well-being.

At the end of the day, one thing was clear: not only is PANKO aligned with the core principles of Home for Humanity—peace, love, and compassion—but we also came to understand how universal our needs are. This makes us citizens of the Earth, without borders.

Through this partnership, we will continue to embrace our responsibility as citizens of the Earth, protecting our environment and making it a place where all living things can thrive.

PANKO PRESCHOOL – COHORT 3

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting with parents for an orientation as we prepare to welcome a new group of young learners to the Panko Preschool family.

It was a simple but important moment to share expectations, answer questions, and remind ourselves that educating a child is truly a team effort between parents and facilitators.

After a successful registration and selection process, we are excited to officially begin Cohort 3 on 7th September 2026.

We can't wait to see the children learn, play, make friends, and grow with us.

FROM “I CAN’T READ” TO SECOND RUNNER-UP!

When Fatimata Abdul Rahaman joined PANKO Afterschool Program, our baseline assessment showed that she could not read.

After a year of learning letter sounds and Jolly Phonics, Fatimata can now read fluently!

After relocating to Accra to stay with her parents, she represented her school in a reading competition and emerged as the Second Runner-Up!

This is why we are so proud of our program.

Our goal is to see many more boys and girls develop the ability to listen, speak, read, and write confidently in the years ahead.

Fatimata’s story is proof that with the right support and opportunity, children can transform.
