Girls to Women Foundation participated in a three day capacity building workshop on Resource Mobilization & Financial Resilience, organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) Civil Society Resource Hub (CSR-Hub) and facilitated by Placements Ghana.

The workshop provided practical tools and strategies that will enhance our fundraising efforts, strengthen partnerships, and ensure long-term sustainability of our programmes.

Key takeaways include:
Diversification of sources of funding by leveraging grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving, crowd-funding, and social enterprise models.

Firming-up proposal writing skills and donor communication by developing compelling concept notes, impactful stories, and demonstrating clear measurable outcomes.

Establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships through strong stakeholder engagement, effective networking, and building shared value with corporate and development partners.

Developing a financial sustainability strategy anchored in good governance, accountability, transparency, and long-term planning to ensure institutional resilience and greater community impact

Girls to Women Foundation is grateful for the lessons and will apply it positively to improve our resource mobilization efforts towards building lasting partnerships that transform lives and stronger communities.

Continuing our series of engagements in our traditional councils on the Dagbon Women Leadership Inclusion (DWLI) Project, The Girls to Women Foundation held a capacity-building workshop on Gender Responsive Governance for chiefs, religious leaders, and opinion leaders in the Mion Traditional Area.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s inclusion and participation in traditional governance and decision-making processes.

Discussions centered on the intersection of gender and tradition, women’s leadership within the Dagbon Kingdom, and the critical role traditional authorities play in fostering fairness, accountability, and inclusive leadership.

Participants reflected on existing barriers to women’s participation in leadership and emphasized the need for continuous leadership development opportunities for women, as well as the active involvement of Magazias in traditional governance structures.

The DWLI Project remains committed to advancing an inclusive and equitable traditional governance system where women’s voices, contributions, and leadership are recognized, valued, and supported.

On 3rd June 2026, we graduated beneficiaries of the Women in Mobile Technology and Entrepreneurship Project (WOMTEP) funded by EMpower - The Emerging Markets Foundation Ltd.

Over the past 12 months, 17 young women gained practical hands-on skills training in Mobile Phone Repairs and Maintenance, alongside entrepreneurship and financial literacy training; equipping them for sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.

The graduation is a celebration of breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes, and creating opportunities for more women and girls to thrive in technology and entrepreneurship.

Congratulations to all graduates! We look forward to seeing you grow as skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and role models in your communities.

Together, we continue to empower young women to lead, innovate, and succeed.
