YEFL-Ghana YEFL-Ghana is a youth organization that seeks to empower young people to lead change.

YEFL-Ghana as an organization emerged from the Youth Forum (YF) concept, which was started by Ghana Friendship Groups in Denmark (GV) in cooperation with Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA) since 2005. The concept over the years has been seen as a means to motivate and give young people a voice to express themselves freely on issues affecting youth development without fear of cultural

barriers. The idea created space, where young people took control of their own lives, by inspiring and encouraging each other to participate in the development of their communities. At the end of each forum, a steering committee is elected to plan the next youth forum. This has continued over the years as an annual activity, where the ownership has been entirely in the hands of the young people themselves. After the 2006 YF however, mini forums were arranged by the participants in their local communities, to spread the positive effects of the youth forum to a wider audience of young people. These have over the years indicated that talking was a first step needed to translate their ideas into action, to further prove that it is possible for young people to make a difference. Barring the emerging interest and importance given to the youth, GV had โ€œYoung Voicesโ€ as the theme for its 2006 annual Ghana Seminar held in Denmark. Youth Action on Reproductive Order (YARO) nurtured the YF project from 2007 which brought to the formation, registration and setting up offices of Youth Empowerment for Life in January,2010. Now, YEfL is partnering with School for Life (SfL), Local Organization and Mobilization (LOM) and Community Livelihood Improved Programme (CLIP) in implementing the Empowerment for Life Programme. Also, YEfL is spearheading the formation of a network of youth organizations in Northern Region. All these give YEfL the needed foundation to get its advocacy issues through to public office holders.

Through our Eco-preneurship Bootcamp, participants gained practical entrepreneurial skills and learnt five key principles that guide successful business creation: ๐ต๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘ ๐‘–๐‘› ๐ป๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘, ๐ด๐‘“๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘™๐‘’ ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘ , ๐ฟ๐‘’๐‘š๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘’, ๐ถ๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘ง๐‘ฆ ๐‘„๐‘ข๐‘–๐‘™๐‘ก, ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘ƒ๐‘–๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘ก ๐‘–๐‘› ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ƒ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘’.

For ๐–๐ฎ๐ง๐ข ๐’๐š๐ซ๐š๐ก, these lessons transformed how she sees not as waiting for perfect conditions, but as starting with available resources and building opportunities from there.

Creating value from waste is no longer just an idea, it is becoming a practical pathway for youth innovation and sustainable livelihoods.

Through our 5-day Eco-preneurship Bootcamp under the , young participants gained hands-on knowledge in eco-preneurship, guided by the principles of ๐‘ƒ๐‘’๐‘œ๐‘๐‘™๐‘’, ๐‘ƒ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘’๐‘ก, ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘“๐‘–๐‘ก.

From learning how to repurpose waste materials to developing practical eco-business ideas, participants explored how sustainability can be transformed into income-generating opportunities and community solutions.

Having our donors visit, is always a pleasure as it serves as reassurance of our relationship ๐Ÿค—.

Recently, we had our donor of over 7+ plus years IMEV, represented by Dr Christoph Strutz visit our office. IMeV have funded our youth parliament initiatives in Tolon and Nantong and now the girls caucus activity in Malshegu.
We took the chance to reintroduce ourselves, what we do, how far we have come, our thematic focus areas and finally progress of the girls thus far.
