As we listened to the family and witnessed their daily reality, we were reminded that disability should never mean abandonment, isolation, or hopelessness. Families like Salma's deserve care, inclusion, and practical support to help them navigate these challenges with dignity.

Our team spent time engaging with the family to better understand their needs, and we are exploring ways through the North-Care Project to support Salma and ease the burden on her family.

Today, we are extending an appeal to individuals, organisations, philanthropists, and well-wishers. Equitas Africa was privileged to participate in the Civic Space Resource Hub (CSR-Hub) Cohort IV training on Civic Space Protection & Regulatory Compliance, held in Tamale from 22ndโ€“24th June 2026.

Over the three-day intensive training, our Executive Director, Bignabiba Uwumborbe David joined 24 other civil society organisations from across the five northern regions, Ghana to deepen their knowledge and strengthen capacities in civic space protection, regulatory compliance, organizational governance, and advocacy. The sessions also provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, build networks, and explore collaborative approaches to advancing an enabling environment for civil society.

At Equitas Africa, we remain committed to promoting accountable governance, human rights, and sustainable civic engagement. The knowledge and practical tools acquired through this programme will strengthen our institutional systems and enhance our ability to serve our communities more effectively.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the organizers West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) for the great opportunity, and expertly facilitating this transformative learning experience. Project Update

Today marked the start of training under the My Career Accelerator Project (My-CAP) at Walewale Senior High Technical School.

Young people from across the West Mamprusi Municipality joined us for the first session, where they were introduced to Microsoft Office tools, an important step toward building their digital and job-ready skills
