Over the weekend, Tamale Eye Hospital in partnership with Right To Sight & Health hosted a successful 2-day CPD workshop for eye care professionals across Northern Ghana.

A total of 81 participants, including ophthalmic nurses and optometrists, came together to learn, share, and discuss key eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, and uveitis.

Beyond the learning, it was a great opportunity to network, reconnect, and explore new equipment.

📅 CPD workshops will now be held every 3 months to keep strengthening eye care delivery in the region.

For the fifth time, we had the honor of hosting Dr. John Sandford-Smith at the Tamale Eye Hospital. He spent two impactful weeks with the team teaching, consulting, conducting community eye screenings, and performing surgical procedures that restored sight and renewed hope.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Sandford-Smith shared invaluable guidance on strengthening our management systems and supporting institutional growth.
His dedication and humility continue to inspire our entire team.
