Community Engagement Against Corruption – Kumbungu District
The Centre for Communities Education and Youth Development (CCEYD), in collaboration with the Ghana Anti‑Corruption Coalition (GACC), CDD Ghana and GII with funding support from the European Union has successfully carried out community sensitization forums in Jekpahi and Kpelinyin communities under the Strengthening Accountability, Rule of Law, and Institutional Responsiveness in Ghana (SARIS) project.
During these engagements, citizens were empowered to:
Resist corruption by actively opposing corrupt practices.
Reject corruption by refusing to participate in or benefit from dishonest acts.
Report corruption through state and non‑state channels such as the CitizensEye App, OSP platforms, and ALAC.
We trained participants on identifying manifestations of corruption—bribery, nepotism, embezzlement, and conflict of interest—and encouraged the use of investigative journalism and community vigilance to expose wrongdoing.
Together, we are building stronger, more transparent communities where accountability thrives. 💪

In a spirited collaboration, the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) and the Centre for Communities Education and Youth Development (CCEYD), the focal organization in these districts, (Nanumba South District, Gushegu Municipality, Karaga District, and Sagnarigu Municipality) marked the Annual African Union Anti-Corruption Day.
Under the African Union Anti-Corruption Day 2026 theme: “Scaling Up the Promotion of Integrity and Anti-Corruption Actions Across Africa”, we reached 9 Junior High Schools (JHS) and 1 Senior High School (SHS). Students were equipped with the knowledge and courage to Resist, Reject, and Report corruption.
Through interactive school sensitizations, and youth-led discussions, we witnessed the passion and commitment of the next generation to build a transparent and accountable Ghana.
Attached are glimpses of the impact from each district.
A heartfelt thank you to all the students, teachers, and community leaders who participated. Together, we are shaping a future built on integrity!

Some time ago, I had the joy of spending time with these wonderful children during our CCEYD Read for Happiness and Good Choices Project. 📚✨
It was more than just reading — it was about inspiring young minds to make positive choices and discover the path to happiness. Their smiles and curiosity reminded me that every act of kindness and learning leaves a lasting mark. ❤️
Though time has passed, the memories and lessons we shared continue to shine bright. Let’s keep building communities where every child feels valued, loved, and empowered to choose wisely. 🌈

The Centre for Communities Education and Youth Development (CCEYD) is proud to continue supporting the implementation of the “Strengthening Accountability, Rule of Law, and Institutional Responsiveness in Ghana (SARIS)” project in the Kunbungu District of the Northern Region, in partnership with Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), and Transparency International Ghana (TI-Ghana).
As part of the continuation of this important initiative, CCEYD will begin community outreaches and refresher trainings from 8th June to further educate and empower citizens, especially youth and women, on corruption awareness, reporting mechanisms, accountability, and active civic participation.
Together, let us Resist, Reject, and Report Corruption for a more transparent and accountable Ghana.
