The fight against corruption received a significant boost in the 4 districts: Sagnarigu Municipal, Gushegu Municipal, Karaga District, Namumba-South (Wulensi), in the Northern Region as the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), in a spirited collaboration with CCEYD a focal organization in the above mentioned districts in Northern Region, marked the Annual International Anti-Corruption Day.

This International Anti-Corruption Day 2025, our theme "Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity" came to life through powerful engagements with young change-makers in the Northern Region.

We reached 9 Junior High Schools (JHS) and 1 Senior High School (SHS) across these districts, equipping students with the knowledge and courage to Resist, Reject, and Report corruption.

Through interactive school sensitizations, community dialogues, and youth-led discussions, we witnessed firsthand the passion and commitment of the next generation to build a transparent and accountable Ghana.

Attached is a glimpse of the impact from each district.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students, teachers, and community leaders who participated. Together, we are shaping a future built on integrity!

This initiative was made possible with support from Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition GACC, and our donors GIZ, EU European Union in Ghana European Union in Ghana, and William Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are the changemakers of today!

STRENGTHENING THE RULE OF LAW AND THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION
The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), in collaboration with the Centre for Community Education and Youth Development (CCEYD) and supported by the Participation, Accountability, and Integrity for a Resilient Democracy (PAIReD) programme, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, is deepening public awareness on the mandate of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and empowering citizens to actively join the fight against corruption.
As part of the national initiative to Strengthen the Rule of Law and the Fight Against Corruption, district-level stakeholder forums are being organized in Wulensi District, Gushegu Municipality, and Sagnarigu Municipality.
These engagements bring together community leaders, youth and women’s groups, civil society organizations, faith-based organizations, public officials, media actors, and persons with disabilities to:
Increase understanding of the OSP’s mandate and reporting channels
Promote safe and responsible reporting of corruption
Strengthen trust between anti-corruption institutions and citizens
Build a culture of accountability and ethical governance
Corruption undermines development — but an informed and engaged citizenry is a powerful force for change. Together, we are promoting transparency, integrity, and justice for a better Ghana 🇬🇭.
