The Young Writers Club, Ghana, (hereafter referred to as YWC) is a not-for-profit, independent, and non-governmental organization founded in April 15, 2004, registered in August 22, 2005 with the National Youth Authority, and is based in Ghana, West Africa. The YWC serves as a multi - sectoral community support group, formed with Technical support from the National Youth Authority, Ghana Library B
oard,Religious Bodies such as Federation of The YWC is aimed at empowering people more especially the youth and young people in the areas of reading and writing,drama,and advocacy. Other areas include; reproductive health issues, HIV and AIDS and child rights issues which include child protection, abuse, child labor and streetism and empowering them to effectively participate, advocate and demand their share towards community development. The YWC has influenced greatly on policies and programmes on youth such as the passage of the national youth policy etc. VISION STATEMENT
To become a world class Youth based organization that create a platform for Young people to express themselves through reading, writing and advocacy in addressing socio-economic issues. MISSION STATEMENTS:
Educating a world class youth organization that creates a platform for young people to identify and solve socio economic programmes and take advantage of potential opportunities around them. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To encourage students develop the skills and habit of reading and writing for national development
2. To use the medium of writing and drama to expose the ills of the society
3. To empower the youth to prevent and protect themselves from HIV and AIDS infections through Providing Care and support for persons living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children, including Advocacy on Rights and Basic Social Services
4. To inculcate in to students African nationalism through the study of African literary works
5. To critically study issues and policies of national interest an contribute meaningfully
6. Promoting and Facilitating of Public Health education and Research programs and advocacy
7. To build a pool of young intellectuals who are desirous of broadening their knowledge
8. To create a platform for the youth to love and appreciate the beauty and value of writing
9. To raise awareness through writing of our general population about the many problems that plaque our society, emphasizing those issues that unite us and de-emphasizing those that divide us.
10. To preach and work for peace and reconciliation through social activities

To enable our people through writing to see themselves as an integral part of one global system and thereby encourage them to strive to take opportunities and advantages of global trend that promote our cultural and socio economic development and avoid those trends that are inimical to our socio economic development
