Akyem Tafo Chief and Residents Oppose Mining

The Abuakwa Municipal Assembly has officially informed Nananom and the people of Old Tafo about plans for a mining company, Parin Gold Limited, to operate within Tafo and its surrounding areas.

In response, Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV met with residents in front of the Awansa Palace to address the issue. He stated clearly that he will not allow any mining activities in his jurisdiction.

He also warned residents against selling their lands to mining companies, emphasizing that such actions go against the collective interest and well-being of the town.

Community members who spoke at the gathering also voiced strong support for Daasebre’s stance, reaffirming their commitment to protect Tafo and its environment from mining activities.
