At CeWaFS-Ghana, we believe women are not just participants in agriculture, they are leaders of climate solutions.
Women smallholder farmers are the stewards of our soils, seeds, and ecosystems. When they have access to resources, leadership opportunities, and equitable land rights, they can drive transformative change in food systems and climate resilience.
As our Founder and Executive Director, Kamasa Dorothy works directly with Indigenous women farmers to advance climate-smart agriculture, land restoration, and food sovereignty. Through our participatory learning approach, we blend traditional ecological knowledge with sustainable farming practices, nurture women’s leadership, and support inclusive land governance that ensures Indigenous women’s voices are heard in climate and development decision-making spaces.
Our work goes beyond training; it changes power structures.
Women in our communities are:
and leading agricultural cooperatives
riverbanks and protecting watersheds
community-led irrigation systems
land-use rights with traditional authorities
directly in local climate governance platforms
This is women-led climate governance in action.
We are demonstrating that when women lead, entire communities become more resilient, food secure, and ecologically restored.
Women are not beneficiaries. They are architects of climate-resilient futures.
