Background
This foundation is about the life of a philanthropist by name Madam Amma Animah the late, also known in his private life as Ante Anima who was born on 7th August, 1955 to Op. Akua Kisiwaa (
deceased) of Gyaase Royal family all from Kwatire in the Sunyani west municipality in the Bono Region of Ghana. She was the 3rd born of her parents. Unfortunately, her education ended at the elementary level. She joined that family in their farming activities. She took up trading as a profession in Kwatire dealing in cloth and was during this business that she met Samuel Addade Mensah the late, who was then a teacher and engaged her as his wife. They moved to Sunyani and settled there and continued the cloth business. She later diverted into selling of provisions, the trade which she engaged in till she passed away. She never had a child of her own but because of her inbuilt philanthropy, she raised two children by his husband and adopted another boy making it three in the number of children and took very good care of the children until she died. The adopted son died out of short illness but this woman though was not that well in both health and in age still took another set of children through adoption to replace the lost son. Even though she did not stay with her family so much but she had the family at heart and everybody within his extended family had the benefit of her goodwill. She was a wonderful counselor, concern for others, very charitable and approachable without discrimination as to whether you are a family member or not. For her, life was full of giving and never had the opportunity reap back but as she keeps saying that we should not stop doing good to people, even though they may show sign of ungratefulness. As the children she raised, we decided to set up this foundation in her name (Animprinsam Care Foundation) as an honor and to also continue her good deeds she started and never had the chance of completing it.
