Dear Hon. Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the president. Sir, kindly indulge me to humbly draw your attention to an inadvertent(i believe) anomaly vis-á-vis the Labour Unions invited for this very pertinent meeting.
Dear Sir, Currently, in Ghana 🇬🇭, just like the teaching profession, we have about five(5) nurses' and midwives' unions championing the welfare of nurses and midwives.
These unions are; 1. the Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives, Ghana(UPNMG),
2. the Professional Association of Psychiatric Nurses Ghana (PAPNG),
3. the National Association of Registered Midwives Ghana (NARM-GH),
4. the Ghana Registered Midwives Association (GRMA) and
5. the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association(GRNMA), and all these unions are legally registered and certified under the Trade Union Congress.
In the very recent past(2025), when the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association(GRNMA) nearly drove this country into chaos through their ego feeding and face saving strike, it took the other four nurses' and midwives' Unions to keep the health sector erect and saved the government's image!
But regrettably, only the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association(GRNMA) is invited whilst the other important, coequal nurses' and midwives' unions are relegated.
Dear Sir, as i earlier intimated, i strongly believe that this was an inadvertent oversight, and thus, respectfully, i trust you would get this rectified.
Holding close to and/or giving the needed recognition to those who stood by you during turbulent times isn't a favour but a natural order!
Dear Health minister, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh(MP), kindly help get this issue remedied!!
Thank you
