Asaasiam Vision International, through the Let Girls Excel Africa program supported by Akuraase Foundation, is focused on transforming "rural vulnerable Ghanaian girls' lives" —achieving over 90% school retention through structured trainings, workshops, mentorship, empowerment programs, and menstrual health support.
Now, the Let Girls Excel Africa is expanding its impact through an integrated three-phase approach for girls in Rural Eastern Region Ghana: Creating an emotional safe space, empowerment programs, and creating the physical safe spaces they desperately need.
*The Heartbreaking Reality*
The targeted vulnerable rural school girls have no choice but to resort to the use of nearby bushes for their convenience which is dehumanizing, dangerous and disease-ridden. During menstrual periods, they face harassment, fears, zero privacy or hygiene, forced absenteeism and deep shame.
We call on all to help drive dignified safe physical spaces. Your donation constructs washrooms and changing rooms that boost school attendance through confident period management, protecting health with handwashing/disposal/water storage to prevent infections, and delivering safety/dignity through private cubicles and lockable doors—ultimately empowering their confidence and futures.
We kindly call on you to support our impact drive using the below link on Global Giving:
