Mother of All Nations Foundation is currently participating in a validation meeting on Ghana’s Fair Tax Monitor (FTM), covering the period from 2009 to 2024 organised by OXFAM in Ghana
The Fair Tax Monitor provides a comprehensive assessment of national tax systems, highlighting key challenges while examining how tax policies and practices impact citizens and the delivery of public services.
The assessment is around these six key thematic areas:
(i) the distribution of the tax burden and progressivity;
(ii) revenue adequacy and illicit financial flows;
(iii) tax competition and corporate incentives;
(iv) the effectiveness of tax administration;
(v) government spending; and
(vi) transparency and accountability.
For us at Mother of All Nations Foundation, this process is directly aligned with our mission to promote social justice, accountable governance, and inclusive development. Fair and efficient tax systems are essential to mobilising domestic resources that fund education, healthcare, social protection, and community development—core areas of our work.
By engaging in the Fair Tax Monitor, the Foundation contributes to evidence-based advocacy that supports equitable public financing, strengthens citizen trust in public institutions, and advances sustainable development outcomes for underserved communities.
