📢 CALL FOR FABRICATORS – PALM OIL PROCESSING EQUIPMENT
Adinkra Spark Foundation LBG invites qualified local fabricators and machine builders to submit expressions of interest for the fabrication of a small-scale palm oil processing system for a women’s economic empowerment project in Bekwai District, Ashanti Region.
Equipment to be Fabricated
Selected fabricator(s) will be required to manufacture and install:
• Palm Oil Digester
• Palm Oil Press
• Palm Oil Clarifier System
• Supporting structural frames and installation fittings
Eligibility
Interested fabricators should:
• Have experience in fabricating agro-processing machinery
• Demonstrate previous work in palm oil or similar processing equipment
• Be able to fabricate, assemble, and install the equipment within the project timeline
• Be based in Ghana (Ashanti Region preferred)

23rd May marked a powerful close to our two-day tree planting mission at Suntreso Technical Institute and Bantama M/A School!
With bright smiles, strong hands, and hopeful hearts, students and staff from both schools came together to green their environments and contribute to climate resilience in Kumasi.

From spacing and digging to careful planting and watering, every learner played a role in nurturing a greener future. It was inspiring to witness their energy and teamwork—proof that climate action is thriving in our schools through youth-led change.

This initiative, led by Adinkra Spark in collaboration with the TVET Ashanti Regional Directorate, formed part of the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative under the Youth in Climate Action Fund. The contributions of Suntreso Technical and Bantama M/A School add to our growing vision of reclaiming Kumasi’s legacy as the “Garden City of West Africa.”

PLANTING DAY SUCCESS – Greening Kumasi Begins!
Today was more than just planting trees—it was planting purpose.

With over 300 seedlings distributed and planted at Kumasi Technical Institute, Amankwatia Clusterp of schools and Dichemso our Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative officially came to life! From early morning prep to placing the final stone around a young tree, the day was filled with passion, precision, and partnership.

Big thanks to our student Green Club leaders, facilitators, and the Ashanti Regional TVET Directorate for making it happen.

Together, we’re not just greening spaces—we’re growing climate leadership!

Measuring for Impact – One Tree at a Time!

As part of our detailed planning for the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative, our team conducted precise site measurements at Amankwatia M/A Primary & JHS and other schools in Kumasi. Using a 3-foot interval spacing system, we carefully mapped out planting zones across key areas of the school compound—including walkways, lawn borders, and shaded classroom blocks.

This effort ensures optimal tree spacing for healthy growth, root development, and long-term sustainability. The activity also demonstrates our commitment to combining climate action with community structure and education.

Each measurement taken is more than just a number—it represents a future tree, a cooler learning environment, and a step closer to a greener Kumasi.

A Greener Tomorrow Starts Today – Tree Seedlings Arrive!

With excitement and commitment, the Adinkra Spark team began the hands-on phase of the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative as we delivered hundreds of healthy, climate-resilient seedlings to designated planting sites.

From careful unloading to protective storage, every seedling represents hope, healing, and the promise of a greener, healthier Kumasi. Our volunteers and collaborators—especially from the Ashanti TVET Service—demonstrated extraordinary teamwork and purpose, ensuring that each plant was handled with care and intention.

These seedlings will soon take root in school compounds, open community spaces, and along dusty paths—transforming heat-prone areas into shaded, life-giving environments. But beyond beautification, this is about education, empowerment, and environmental stewardship led by the youth.

Together, we are planting more than trees. We are planting values, vision, and vitality into the heart of our city.

Planting Hope, Growing Change at Dichemso M/A Primary & JHS!

During our recent visit to Dichemso M/A Primary and Junior High School, we witnessed both the potential and the need for greener, healthier learning spaces. While the school is full of vibrant learners and committed staff, much of the compound—especially classroom peripheries and walkways—remains bare and exposed to heat and dust.

The large tree at the school entrance already serves as a vital gathering spot and shade source, demonstrating the power of nature in enhancing education. Imagine the transformation if more trees were added across the compound!

Through the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative, we aim to engage students and teachers in a meaningful tree planting exercise that brings environmental lessons to life. Together, we can cultivate a space that inspires care, climate awareness, and a lifelong love for sustainability.

With support from stakeholders, Dichemso M/A can become a model eco-school—where every tree tells a story of growth, learning, and community pride.

Greening the Future, One Site at a Time!

As part of the Green Kumasi – 500 Trees Initiative, our team has begun identifying and assessing planting locations across five sub-metros in Kumasi. These photos show some of the selected sites—school compounds, open fields, roadside edges, and green buffers—all earmarked for transformation through tree planting.

These spaces will soon be home to climate-resilient trees that will provide shade, reduce urban heat, prevent erosion, and restore Kumasi’s green heritage.

With the support of our partners—, Forestry Commission, and TVET institutions like Kumasi Technical Institute and Suntreso Technical & Vocational Institute—the groundwork is being laid for a more sustainable and livable city.

Stay tuned as we prepare to plant, grow, and nurture 500+ trees with the help of youth volunteers and green clubs!

Turning Waste into Wonder at Bantama Presby Primary & JHS!

Adinkra Spark was thrilled to witness the creative brilliance of students at Bantama Presby Primary and JHS, who are leading by example in environmental innovation.

From pen holders and multipurpose baskets made of bottle caps to a drink carrier crafted from recycled plastics and fabric, these young eco-champions are transforming waste into useful everyday items. The school also practices waste segregation with clearly labeled bins for plastic and paper in every classroom—keeping their compound clean and promoting sustainability through action.

This is more than craft—it’s character, creativity, and care for our planet!
