12th May, 2026:

As part of the implementation of the Gender Justice Caravan Project, funded by , EWEF partnered with DOVVSU and NYA to host a live radio discussion on Kings Radio, Konongo to raise public awareness on gender-based violence (GBV) and promote community action against abuse and discrimination.
The discussion provided an important platform to educate listeners on the different forms, causes, and effects of GBV, while also addressing harmful social norms that contribute to violence against women and girls.
The team emphasized the importance of speaking up, supporting survivors, and using available reporting mechanisms such as DOVVSU and Social Welfare services.
The interactive nature of the program allowed listeners to call in, ask questions, and share their perspectives and experiences. This created meaningful community dialogue and increased public engagement on issues that are often silenced or misunderstood.
The discussion contributed to increased awareness and understanding of GBV among listeners within Konongo and surrounding communities.

Key areas discussed included organizational governance, financial management, safeguarding, program quality, youth participation, and strategic positioning categorized under five key domains.

Beyond assessment, the exercise strengthened team cohesion and renewed the collective commitment to building a resilient, accountable, and youth-responsive organization capable of driving sustainable impact for women and young people in Ghana.

EWEF remains grateful to Plan International Ghana for the technical support and partnership in strengthening local women-led organizations through the RWVL Project.
