Today marks the end of the 16 Days of Activism, but not the end of our commitment.
Gender-based violence doesn’t stop on Day 16, and neither do we.
At IGED Africa, we remain unwavering in our mission to build safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces for all women and girls.
We will continue to speak, advocate, and act until every woman and girl is safe, online and offline.

Together, let’s build a world where safety, dignity, and justice are the norm for all women and girls.

09/12/2025

Far too often, perpetrators of sexual assault walk free, and survivors are left to fight alone.
But in Guinea, more than 109 brave women who were publicly r***d won a landmark case that officially recognized sexual violence as a crime against humanity.
After 15 years of resilience, their victory echoes across the world, reminding us that justice, though delayed, is still possible.
At IGED Africa, we believe that every step toward accountability strengthens the global fight against impunity.
We stand with survivors, amplify their voices, and continue to advocate for systems that protect, not silence.
Justice must not be delayed, it must be delivered.

04/12/2025

Let us make this right a reality. It is a collective responsibility to ensure safety for every woman and girl, everywhere.
Safety is non-negotiable. It’s time to act and hold ourselves and our communities accountable.

Protect this right. Challenge harmful behaviors, advocate for safer spaces, and listen to survivors.

The forms of digital violence are wide-ranging (cyber-stalking, image-based abuse, targeted harassment) and the impact is severe: stolen voices, damaged mental health, and real-world danger.

Every woman deserves to thrive, offline and online.
This , IGED Africa calls on everyone to help build safer digital spaces by reporting abuse, standing against harassment, and amplifying women’s voices.
Together, we UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.

UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.

Technology, meant to connect and empower, is increasingly weaponized through Cyberbullying and Online Harassment, a form of gender-based violence that causes real, measurable harm.

Digital violence pushes women and girls out of public discourse, harms their mental health, and often escalates into real-world threats. The virtual is real.

Day 3 of the : We must UNiTE to tackle the urgent crisis of Digital Violence.
Online abuse is not “just trolling”, it is a pervasive form of gender-based violence that has severe real-world consequences, silencing women and girls and harming their mental health.
Cyberstalking, image-based abuse, and targeted harassment are unacceptable.
👉 What you can do today: Advocate for stronger digital safety laws and report online abuse immediately. Let’s ensure the internet is a space for empowerment, not harassment.

🛑 End Digital Violence Now!!!!Join the 16 Days of Activism 2025
The digital world should be a safe space for everyone. Yet, digital violence and online abuse are major barriers preventing women and girls from fully participating in tech, business, and public life.
This year for the 16 Days of Activism (Nov 25 - Dec 10), we are shining a light on this urgent issue.
We must act collectively to foster respectful online environments. Join the UNiTE campaign and commit to:
• Educating ourselves and our teams on digital citizenship.
• Implementing strong anti-harassment policies.
• Amplifying voices working to create a safe digital future.

Nearly 1 in 3 women has experienced violence in her lifetime, and today, digital spaces are becoming yet another arena where abuse and harassment occur.

At IGED Africa, we continue to advocate fiercely for safer digital and physical spaces, ensuring that women and girls can live, learn, and participate without fear of violence.

On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we are reminded that both online and offline violence continue to restrict the rights, safety, and opportunities of women and girls worldwide.

Happy International Men’s Day💙

Today, IGED Africa joins the world in celebrating men and boys, their contributions, their leadership, and the positive roles they play in building peaceful, equitable, and inclusive societies.

As we continue our work toward gender equality, we acknowledge that men are essential partners in driving change. Promoting healthy masculinity, supporting men’s wellbeing, and encouraging their active involvement in advancing women’s rights strengthens families, communities, and nations.

To all men who champion equality, stand against all forms of violence, uplift the women and girls in their lives, and commit to becoming better allies, we honour and appreciate you.

Happy International Men’s Day from IGED Africa.

IGED Africa Engages in Strengthening Ghana’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda this year.

IGED Africa participated in two key stakeholder engagements convened by the Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA), aimed at assessing and advancing Ghana’s National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325.
On 13th March 2025, IGED Africa joined the Stakeholder Validation Meeting in Accra to review the zero draft of FOSDA’s Phase II findings on the implementation of GHANAP II. The discussions focused on gathering recommendations for the final year of GHANAP II and setting priorities for the next phase, GHANAP III.
This session underscored the importance of collaboration, research-driven dialogue, and shared accountability in strengthening the Women, Peace and Security agenda in Ghana.
Subsequently, on 15th July 2025, IGED Africa took part in a Policy Roundtable on Financing GHANAP II, which explored sustainable financing mechanisms to ensure effective WPS implementation.
Key insights reinforced the need for:
• Active engagement in high-level advocacy
• Integrating evidence-based research into policy influence
• Building strategic partnerships
• Strengthening internal strategy alignment
Through these engagements, IGED Africa reaffirms its commitment to promoting meaningful participation, inclusive decision-making, and sustainable investment in Women, Peace and Security efforts, towards lasting peace and gender-responsive governance in Ghana.
