It’s the 2nd edition of our International Women’s Day Award event 💜, and this year the Trailblazer Award 2025 goes to Aesha Hadir Adam.

Aesha Hadir Adam is an accomplished professional with a background in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. During her student years, she actively served in leadership roles within the Ghana Muslim Students Association, contributing to youth development and community engagement.

She began her career with the Food and Drugs Authority and later worked as a Food Safety Manager at Golden Tulip Kumasi City. Her entrepreneurial journey led her to establish Splash Foods and later found Iqra Educational Centre, which has grown into multiple schools across Accra, alongside an Islamic Resource Centre focused on mentorship and character development for young people.

She is also the host of the podcast “Bits and Pieces by Aesha,” where she shares insights on faith, life, and personal growth. Aesha is passionate about women’s empowerment, youth development, and holistic education, and remains committed to raising a generation grounded in strong values and purpose.

She specializes in designing stylish and culturally inspired outfits that reflect both modern trends and African heritage, while promoting confidence and elegance among women and preserving the rich cultural identity of her community.

Over the years, she has developed her skills through continuous learning and practical experience. She has also trained and mentored young individuals who are interested in fashion, helping them acquire valuable skills for self-employment and independence, free of charge within her community and its environs.

Beyond her professional work, she is deeply committed to community development and women empowerment. She believes in using her talent to inspire others and create positive change in society, and she remains hardworking, disciplined, and always willing to learn and grow.

Helena Wazaria Issah is a compassionate humanitarian and community advocate dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and underserved families through her work with the Orphans Smile Foundation. She is committed to helping orphans and less privileged individuals by providing care, support, food, clothing, and other essential resources to improve their lives, especially during outreach programs organized for communities in need.

Through her humanitarian efforts, she continues to bring hope, dignity, and encouragement to children and families, particularly during periods such as Ramadan, when acts of charity and kindness are most meaningful. Helena believes strongly in community service and is passionate about making a positive impact in society through compassion, generosity, and dedication to helping others.

Amdiya Abdul Latif is an award-winning ecofeminist and social entrepreneur, Director of RuGirlz EMS and Founder of Eco-Me Africa—Ghana’s leading reusable menstrual pad production company addressing menstrual health and environmental waste challenges across Africa.

She is a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow and a recipient of several prestigious accolades, including the Female-Led Green Business Award, 40 Under 40 Award, YALI Sustainability Excellence Award, and the YALI Community Engagement Award.

She has also been recognized among the 15 African Female Leaders Catalyzing Change through Social Impact and named one of the 100 Most Influential Young Women in Africa by African Women Audacity.
