AS PART OF THE EDUDZI PROJECT IN ANUM-ASIKUMA IN THE ASUOGYAMAN DISTRICT OF THE EASTERN REGION, AGBE FOUNDATION WELCOMED IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM OUR IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS, A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANISATION CALLED THE ASIKUMA YOUTH EMPOWERMENT NETWORK (AYEN). AYEN WAS FORMED AND LEGALLY INCORPORATED TO SERVE AS THE SUSTAINABLE VEHICLE TO DRIVE THE CHANGE IN NARRATIVE AGBE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO CHAMPION IN ANUM-ASIKUMA. OWNED BY THE COMMUNITY AND MADE UP OF LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING FARMERS AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS, THE LEADERSHIP OF AYEN WORKED HAND IN HAND WITH AGBE FOUNDATION TO DESIGN A SCHOOL HEALTH PROJECT THAT USED AN ACADEMIC QUIZ COMPETITION TO BRING TOGETHER ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS IN ASIKUMA AND SIX NEIGHBOURING COMMUNITIES FOR A TALK ON SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH. THE DETAILS ABOVE ARE GRAPHICAL REPORTS OF THAT IMPACTFUL PROJECT.

AGBE FOUNDATION made a Right to Information request to Ghana Health Service for a comprehensive list of Facilities under the agency that provide adolescent-friendly sexual, reproductive and mental health (SRM) services.
This became an important need because Agbe Foundation saw the need to connect the volunteered youth being trained in underserved Ghanaian communities to undertake these SRM services to accessible facilities for the sustainability of their local initiatives.
We are grateful to Mr. Kwesi Fianko and the Information Office of Ghana Health Service for responding to our request and making the information available to us in an electronic form.
