**🌍✨ THE FUTURE OF YOUTH LEADERSHIP IN HO STARTS NOW!**

Young people deserve more than a seat at the table. they deserve a voice that shapes decisions, influences policies, and drives sustainable change.

As part of the **Young & Safe Project**, funded by Fondation Botnar within a consortium of Node Eight, GES - Ho Municipal Directorate, Ho Municipal Assembly and LoveAid Foundation, LoveAid Foundation is proud to lead the development of the **Young & Safe Youth Council Charter** through a multi-stakeholder engagement that brings together young people, government institutions, civil society, traditional authorities, development partners, and community leaders to co-create a governance framework that is truly youth-centered.

This is more than a meeting.
It is a commitment to building a Youth Council that is:
✅ Inclusive and representative
✅ Accountable and transparent
✅ Sustainable and youth-led
✅ A strong platform for advocacy, innovation, and meaningful participation

Because when young people help write the rules, they become architects—not just beneficiaries—of their own future.

Together, we are laying the foundation for a Charter that will empower generations of young people to lead boldly, participate meaningfully, and transform Ho Municipality.

We will be LIVE at Ho Technical Institute from 23rd to 24th July for the Young and Safe Bootcamp.

The two-day bootcamp will create a safe space for students to learn, connect, and engage in meaningful conversations around Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Mental Health, and Cyber Hygiene.

Through these conversations, we are equipping young people with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to make informed decisions and protect their well-being.

LoveAid Foundation, through the Young & Safe Bootcamp under the Healthy Cities for Adolescents Project, is excited to engage students of Ho Technical Institute in two days of impactful learning, meaningful conversations, and youth empowerment.

Our sessions will focus on three critical areas affecting adolescents and young people today:

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); Empowering young people to make informed and responsible decisions about their health and future.

Mental Health & Well-being; Promoting self-awareness, resilience, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.

Cyber Hygiene & Digital Safety; Equipping participants with practical skills to stay safe online, protect their digital identity, and navigate the internet responsibly.

The Young & Safe Bootcamp is more than just a training programme—it’s a safe space where young people can learn, ask questions, share experiences, and become champions for healthy living and safer communities.

Together, we’re building a generation that is informed, confident, resilient, and safe.

**WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026**

*Period Education is Empowerment.*

For millions of girls and women, menstruation is still treated as shameful, dirty, or something to hide.
But periods are not a taboo. They are a natural part of life.

Yet across many communities, young girls still miss school because they cannot afford sanitary pads. Some are forced to use unsafe alternatives. Others suffer in silence because myths, stigma, and misinformation have made them feel embarrassed about their own bodies.

No girl should have to choose between her dignity and her education.
No woman should be made to feel less because of a biological reality.
And no society can truly progress while period poverty continues to limit the potential of its girls and women.

Menstrual hygiene is not a luxury.
It is a matter of health, dignity, equality, and human rights.

Today, we raise our voices against:
🩸 Period poverty
🩸 Menstrual stigma and harmful myths
🩸 The high cost and inaccessibility of sanitary products
🩸 Silence surrounding menstrual health education

We call for:
✔ Affordable and accessible sanitary products
✔ Safe and clean menstrual facilities
✔ Comprehensive menstrual health education
✔ Communities that support girls instead of shaming them

Let us create a world where no girl is held back by her period.
A world where menstruation is met with understanding, dignity, and support — not silence.

Because when we empower girls with knowledge, access, and confidence, we empower entire communities.
