*THE DEANERY CELEBRATION OF THE SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Tokokoe – Sunday, 7th June 2026*
Members of the Sacred Heart Commendary and Ladies Auxiliary,Ho-Bankoe together with our vibrant Junior Auxiliary members, joined the faithful of the Deanery at Tokokoe, under Shia Parish, to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi on Sunday, 7th June 2026.
A delegation of fourteen (14) members, comprising brothers, sisters, and our lovely Juniors, proudly represented the organization at this important Deanery celebration. The gathering brought together Catholics from across the Deanery in a joyful profession of faith in the Eucharistic Lord.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Raphael Tawiah, with Rev. Fr. Michael Akai as co-celebrant. In his homily, Fr. Michael Akai centered his reflection on the theme “Jesus as the Living Bread” and emphasized that through the Eucharist,*we become one Body in Him*
He explained that Corpus Christi is a celebration of our faith in the presence of the risen Lord, who remains alive among His people and continues to walk with them. Jesus becomes the Bread of Life, satisfying our deepest hunger and nourishing us for our daily journey of faith.
Drawing from the Church's teaching on the Eucharist, Fr. Michael reminded the congregation that “The Eucharist is not a prize for the perfect, but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak; food for the journey as we make our faltering way to the Father.” He encouraged the faithful to approach the Eucharist with faith, humility, and gratitude, recognizing it as a source of strength and grace.
Reflecting on the words of St. Paul, he further stressed that “Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.” He called on all Christians to live in unity, love, and mutual support, bearing witness to Christ through their words and actions.
The celebration was characterized by prayerful participation, joyful fellowship, and deep reverence for the Blessed Sacrament. The presence of our brothers, sisters, and Juniors was a beautiful testimony to the commitment of the Sacred Heart Commendary and Ladies Auxiliary,HO-Bankoe to the life and mission of the Church.
We thank Almighty God for the gift of the Eucharist and for the success of this Deanery celebration. May Jesus, the Living Bread come down from heaven, continue to nourish our souls, strengthen our faith, and unite us as one body in His love.
*Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body." (1 Corinthians 10:17*)
