πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ Honored to Serve Ghana Once Again

A few weeks ago, I had the rare privilege of engaging with High-Level Royalty at the National House of Chiefs on β€˜The Role of Traditional Leaders in Ending Child Marriage in Ghana, One Paramountcy at a Time’, a powerful example of how tradition and progress can walk hand in hand.

This amazing opportunity was made possible by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, with support from UNFPA Ghana.

I presented:
β€’ A brief on the Concept Note and Methodology on the Ending
Child Marriage in Ghana, One Paramountcy at a Time’ Project

β€’ Paramountcies covered so far and their further engagements
(Avatime, Oguaa, Akwamufie, Agona Nyakrom, Anfoega,
Tagba/Ave-Hevi and Bongo)

β€’ Key challenges and success stories
The session sparked a rich Q&A and concluded with a strong Call to Action for Paramount Chiefs to champion the Ending Child Marriage in Ghana, One Paramountcy at a Time initiative in their communities.

Grateful to share space with distinguished officials present, including:
β€’ Mr. Wilfred Ochan, UNFPA Ghana Country Representative
β€’ Dr. Doris Aglobitse, Program Specialist, SRH and Gender Team
Lead, UNFPA Ghana
* Mr. Richard Obeng, Deputy Director and Head of Religious
Affairs Unit (MLGCRA)
* Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum , Kwasohene
* Gh-UNIQ Queenmothers present and many others.

Together, we are building momentum to protect the future of our children, one community at a time.

.......... The Making of an IDEAL WOMAN........

Is a Non-Government Organisation founded in the year 2013. It aims at supporting the development of women and children in Ghana through advocacy, programs and projects.

ODF since its inception has gained recognition and also generated significant interests in Ghana especially among Women Cultural Leaders who have been encouraged to be innovative and dynamic in their dealings with their communities. This has been done through organizing advocacy and training programs to enhance their knowledge and skills.

One of the major projects being undertaken by the Obaapa Development Foundation is the Teenage Mothers Back to School Project (TMBTSP). The foundation adopted the TMBTSP, an original initiative of the Girl-Child Education Unit of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Education Office with the aim of expanding it into a national project.
