Ceciliaβs class visited the Kaizen Reading-Lab for their library session, and that was the first time all seventeen Deaf pupils had entered a library.
Unfortunately, when it got to her turn to introduce herself, Cecilia could only show the sign for her name but could not finger-spell using the alphabet or write her name on a paper. (she has no knowledge of how to read and write)
Determined to learn how to write and finger-spell her name, since last week Monday she has constantly visited the reading- Lab for personalized learning and just after few days she is now able to write and finger-spell her name.
Deaf learners should not be limited by their disability, they also deserve equal opportunities to learn & succeed like their hearing peers.
In the coming weeks, she will start learning to sign and write the letters of the alphabet.
As a fashion designing student, she must acquire the fundamentals of reading and writing to help her in her day to day activities.
InspireD to read.
