"To develop and use highly qualified expertise and innovation to provide training, conduct applied research, and engage in outreach activities towards addressing Africa's coastal development challenges and the conservation of marine resources."

Through research that informs action, training that builds capacity, and outreach that connects science with society, AOI is committed to developing practical solutions for resilient coastal communities and healthy marine ecosystems across Africa.
