💔 Why Some People Feel Jealous Instead of Appreciating Others’ Honor

Sometimes, when a person receives an award or recognition, not everyone around them celebrates sincerely. Instead, some may feel jealous or unhappy. Here’s why that happens:

😔 1. Lack of Gratitude and Contentment

Some people forget to be thankful for what they already have. Instead of appreciating others’ success, they focus on what they don’t have, which leads to jealousy.

> 📖 “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” — Proverbs 14:30

🧠 2. Misunderstanding Success

Many people think success is a competition. They believe if someone is honored, it means they are less important — but that is not true. Everyone’s time and purpose are different.

> 🕋 “Do not wish for the things by which Allah has made some of you excel others.” — Qur’an 4:32

💬 3. Pride and Insecurity

When someone feels insecure or proud, it becomes hard for them to clap for others. They see another person’s achievement as a threat instead of an inspiration.

❤️ 4. Lack of Love and Unity

True love and friendship celebrate others’ blessings. When love and unity are missing, jealousy grows.

> 📖 “Rejoice with those who rejoice.” — Romans 12:15

🌿 5. Spiritual Immaturity

Spiritually mature people understand that every good thing comes from God, and He lifts people at the right time. Those who are jealous forget that their own time will come too.

> 🕋 “Indeed, Allah does not love the arrogant or the boastful.” — Qur’an 4:36

🌟 Conclusion

Instead of being jealous, we should learn to celebrate others. When we appreciate the success of our friends, we attract our own blessings. Remember: when you honor others, you invite honor into your own life.

This award is given to individuals whose work directly transforms communities, improves lives, and shows consistent dedication to service.
The selection committee looks for:

Impactful community projects

Leadership that inspires others

Sacrifice, consistency, and a heart for the people

Proven results in improving the welfare of the community

The award confirms that our work in Kru-Town and Cape Coast is not unnoticed.
The clean-ups, health initiatives, youth engagement programs, social welfare support, community development efforts, and humanitarian work have created real and measurable impact.

This is a recognition that Cape Coast has leaders who serve, not leaders who wait to be served.

2. Volunteer Organization of the Year – Cape Coast Youth Development Association (CCYDA)

This category celebrates organizations that demonstrate:

Strong and visionary leadership

Teamwork across all departments

Youth mobilization and empowerment

Social impact projects that solve real community problems

Dedication to volunteerism without expecting financial reward

CCYDA winning this national award shows that:

Cape Coast has one of the most active youth-led organizations in Ghana.

Our projects—from educational support, community outreach, empowerment programs, heritage preservation, health screenings, book distributions, and youth mentorship—are shaping a new future.

Our teamwork is solid and our leadership is consistent.

This award belongs to every young person who has sacrificed time, energy, and resources to move CCYDA forward.

SDG 5 focuses on Gender Equality, promoting women’s empowerment, protection, leadership, and equal opportunities.
This award recognizes individuals who work to:

Support vulnerable women and girls

Advocate for equal rights

Provide opportunities and empowerment for women

Promote social welfare and community support

Auntie Nyaniba’s decades of work at Social Welfare, her guidance in youth development, her leadership in CCYDA, and her mentorship to young women all contributed to this national honor.

This proves that CCYDA’s leadership is well-balanced, purposeful, and impactful.

On behalf of the Cape Coast Youth Development Association, we give all glory, honour, and praise to Almighty God for this remarkable recognition. We express our heartfelt appreciation to the organizers of the Mentorship Volunteerism Excellence Awards for acknowledging our commitment and presenting us with the Volunteer Organization of the Year award.

This achievement is not for CCYDA alone. It belongs to the entire people of Cape Coast — especially our energetic youth, dedicated volunteers, loyal partners, respected advisors, and everyone who continues to support and believe in our mission. The Oguaa Project Foundation focuses on Education, Sports, Tourism, Developmental, and Environmental projects.

The Cape Coast Youth Development Association will benefit from the Foundation’s education initiative, which aims to support 80 BECE students who participated in the Oguaa Fetu Afahye Inter-Community Quiz Competition Season 7.

In 2024, the Association received support from the Oguaa Fetu Afahye Planning Committee to organize Youth Event Programs. Building on that success, the leadership of the Association has already submitted a proposal to the Oguaa Project Foundation, seeking support under its education initiative to assist the 80 BECE students taking part in this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye Inter-Community Quiz Competition Season 7.
