Following the establishment of the local Community of Ptactice (CoP) in the 3 zones of the Bolgatanga East District Assembly, a radio programme was held to discuss the functions of the CoP in each of the zone. The CoP will coordinate and mobilise the citizenry around developmental interventions that addresses their priority needs. The radio programme hosted the 3 focal persons from the 3 zones to create awareness about the existence of the CoP. This activity falls under the Evidence for Development Project with support from CDD-Ghana - Ghana Center for Democratic Development and funded by William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Following the advocacy and the efforts of the Community of Practice (CoP) about the lack of equipment for the laboratory theatre, a philanthropist who wants to remain anonymous donated some equipment to support health delivery in the Bolgatanga East District Assembly. The CoP is an intersectoral platform established by the Evidence for Development (E4D) project to promote Evidence-Informed Decision Making (EIDM) at the Assembly. The project is financed by William and Flora Hewlett Foundation with support from CDD-Ghana - Ghana Center for Democratic Development

It was a platform of cross fertilisation of ideas to enhance project delivery as Bolgatanga East CoP prepares to undertake monitoring and evaluation on some priority projects in the District. The Community of Practice (CoP) working hard at institutionalising data use in decision making held a radio discussion to sensitise the community on the upcoming data collection exercise. For the assembly to make effective decisions for equitable development, we need to harvest citizens opinions about the accessibility and quality of service delivery in the District. The phone-ins session had a number of citizens who expressed their excitement for the initiative. Its been a 3-day Monitoring and Evaluation capacity building with the aim of improving the quality of evidence generation to improve social developmental outcomes. The training particularly focused on how to use technology for data collection, analysis and report writing. This training comes under the Evidence for Development (E4D) project.
