On 25th & 26th June,2026 Restorative Seed Society facilitated a Community Visioning Training in Kologo in respect of Children's Education in the community, and the energy was truly inspiring!
A total of 41 community members including Chiefs, Elders, Assembly Members, Women, Men, Children and Youth came together to reflect, share, and dream.
Day 1 set the foundation with powerful discussions on human rights, responsibilities, community values, and gender roles. Through interactive exercises, participants explored practical actions to improve wellbeing and reaffirmed their commitment to an inclusive and rights-conscious community.
Day 2 was all about the future. Divided into men, women, and youth groups, participants painted a bold 5-year vision for Kologo, including:
✅ Improved school environments & teaching materials
✅ A secondary school, library, and ICT centre
✅ Reduced substance abuse & positive behavioural change among youth
From vision board to action plans, the community is now ready to turn these aspirations into reality with RSS only facilitating the process.

From 6th-8th June, 2026 Restorative Seed Society convened a 3-day workshop bringing together staff, board members, and external stakeholders to build capacity and co-create solutions for foundational education.

Day 1 focused on staff capacity building: practical sessions on fishbone analysis, community-led development principles, and facilitation skills for effective community engagement. Teams worked through real community challenges to identify root causes and design more targeted interventions.

Day 2 combined board governance with cross-learning. Board members reviewed our strategic direction and annual program, then joined staff for a session on the Community Wellbeing Framework. Mixed group discussions surfaced integrated approaches across economic, social, health, environmental, and cultural dimensions.

Day 3 centered on stakeholder engagement for foundational education. Leaders from government, CSOs, schools, and communities joined us to map challenges in basic education and apply root cause analysis. The outcome: co-designed, low-cost, community-driven initiatives and clear stakeholder commitments for implementation.

The workshop reinforced a core principle we hold at Restorative Seed Society: sustainable change happens when communities lead the analysis and own the solutions.

Restorative Seed Society participated in a 10-day training on community wellbeing in Thies, Senegal. Through the support of our partner mc2h, two staff Hillary Adongo, Rebecca Abane and a representative of one of the communities we work in Norbert Atanga Yuure Nde Bangre Bia participated in this training. The training was meant to introduce partners to the concept of Community-Led Development (CLD) and how TOSTAN has been working with this model over the last 3 decades in Senegal. It was a period of deep learning and we look forward to adapting the lessons in our work. We have no doubt that the future of sustainable development must be anchored in CLD.
