The Executive Director of RISE-Ghana, Alhaji Awal Ahmed Kariamah, has called on district assemblies in the Upper East Region to base their development decisions on evidence gathered from the ground, to avoid projects and programmes that leave citizens dissatisfied.

He made the call while speaking to the media at a regional learning forum on evidence-informed policymaking held in Bolgatanga on Wednesday. The forum brought together conveners of statutory committees of the Bongo, Talensi, Nabdam and Bolga East District Assemblies, representatives of the Ghana Statistical Service and regional economic planning officers.

On the occasion of “Lived Experiences Heard, Real Voices, Real Change”. BasicNeeds Ghana led Ghana Alliance for Mental Health and Development made up of 128 organizations nationwide launches report by ADD International and calls on Government, relevant state and non-state actors to move beyond policy and promises, to deliver concrete actions on inclusive employment, sustainable mental health financing, and eliminate stigma and discrimination.

Many health facilities at the lower tier do not get updates on cases they refer to higher facilities, leading to delayed referrals and dampening staff moral. At the Regional Learning Forum on convened by RISE-Ghana under the CDD-Ghana - Ghana Center for Democratic Development project funded by William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Bolga East, Bongo Talensi and Nabdam districts share and learn best practices from using data to manage stakeholder expectations, to leveraging Ghana Stats data, to using Unit Committees to build data base of businesses for revenue mobilization. STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS TO BUILD YOUTH RESILIENCE AGAINST VIOLENT EXTREMISM

“This project will create income-generating opportunities for more youth, help reduce social vices, and ease pressure on political leaders. The Assembly will work to ensure their products are FDA certified.”

The Bridging theGlobal Community Engagement and Resilience Fundilience Fund team from CDD-Ghana and RISE-Ghana engaged District Assemblies and Rural Banks across our six implementing districts.

The engagements focused on strengthening collaboration between th Community Bank and the Department of Social Welfare in the disbursement of seed capital to project beneficiaries for small ruminants and Soap and Detergent businesses, a key step to ensuring transparency, accountability, and sustainability beyond the project.

All partners have pledged their full support to ensure the success of the project.
