Reverend Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam
is the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana. He is a prominent religious and civic leader in Ghana, also serving as the Lead Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra.
Religious leadership
• General Superintendent: Wengam was elected to lead the Assemblies of God, Ghana, in August 2022. The position oversees more than 6,000 churches and hundreds of thousands of members.
• International roles: He holds other major positions within the Assemblies of God worldwide, including Vice Chairman of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance and Chairman of the Church Health Commission of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.
• Founding Pastor: As the founder of Cedar Mountain Chapel, he has been instrumental in its growth. The church received the Global Church of Excellence Award from the Assemblies of God, USA, in 2022.
Public service and media
• Ghana Immigration Service: In June 2025, Wengam was appointed Chairman of the governing council for the Ghana Immigration Service by President John Dramani Mahama.
• Ghana Prisons Service: He previously served as Chairman of the Ghana Prisons Service Council, where he launched "Project Efiase," a 10-year strategic plan to improve the nation's prisons.
• Radio personality: For many years, Wengam was the senior resident radio pastor for Citi 97.3FM and Citi TV, where he hosted the popular morning devotion program "This Is Your Day".
Education and personal life
• Education: He holds a Master of Theology and a Diploma in Christian Clinical Counseling from the International Theological Seminary in the USA. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Administration from the University of Ghana.
• Family: Reverend Wengam is married to Lady Monica, and they have two children.
TEEN CHALLENGE, GHANA
While best known for its work with addiction, Teen Challenge also assists with other life-controlling problems, such as gang involvement and abuse. Programs can also offer specialized services for women with children, military personnel, and families.
