The Melcom Care Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Melcom Group Limited, has donated 25 Medical Refrigerators to various healthcare facilities in the country as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

This brings to 70, the total number of medical refrigerators Melcom has donated to health institutions in Ghana, to support effective healthcare delivery.

The beneficiary health institutions include the Ga North Municipal Hospital, Ga West Municipal Hospital, LEKMA Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Tarkwa Government Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, Tema General Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Police Hospital and Nsawam Government Hospital.

Others are Kuntanase District Hospital, Essikado Hospital, Ashaiman Municipal Hospital, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Hospital, Techimantia Polyclinic, and Holy Family Hospital, Berekum.

The rest are Trauma Specialist Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, Bibiani Municipal Hospital, Manhyia District Hospital and the Greater Accra Blood Centre of the National Blood Service NBS).

Throwback to last Christmas when the Melcom Care Foundation made a donation of essential food items to patients at the Dialysis Unit of the 37 Military Hospital as part of our Christmas season outreach.

The donation which was made by Brand Ambassador Giovani Caleb on behalf of management, comprised twenty-five 45kg bags of Platinum Jasmine Vietnamese Rice, twenty-four 900ml bottles of Platinum Sunflower Oil, 150 cans of Platinum Sardines, eighty 500ml bottles of Awake Melcom Water, and forty-eight 1L tetra packs of Faragello Grape and Cocktail Nectar.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Colonel Vivian Malvin Adzah expressed gratitude to the Melcom Care Foundation for the unexpected gesture. She thanked the Foundation on behalf of the hospital’s command, management, nursing staff, officers, soldiers, civilian staff, and patients, describing the donation as timely and overwhelming.

As part of activities marking the 5th anniversary of the late founder and Chairman of the Melcom Group, the Melcom Care Foundation has donated food items and books to 4 educational institutions.

The beneficiary institutions are the Amanokrom Presbyterian JHS, Dzorwulu Special School, Akropong School for the Blind and the Accra Wesley Girls School.

The food items valued at approximately GH¢40,000.00, included Bags of Platinum Jasmine Rice, Cartons of Platinum Corned Beef, Cartons of Unity Tuna Flakes in Vegetable Oil, Cartons of Milkana Spreadable Cheese and Bottles of Awake Melcom Water.

The institutions also received a selection of books, including "Reflections of the Late Chairman," to support student learning.

Melcom Care Foundation has donated GH¢500,000 to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund in support of the Fund’s ongoing “Heal Ghana Month” campaign.

The donation, which satisfies the health aspect of the Foundation’s primary focus, apart from education, was made during a visit to the Secretariat of the Trust Fund in Accra by a delegation from the Melcom Group.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Ramesh Sadhwani, Group Managing Director, said the Foundation decided to support the initiative after observing the growing impact of the Trust Fund through various media reports.

“We have come across a lot of media publications on the work of the Trust Fund, which is an initiative of President John Dramani Mahama, and we felt it was worthy for us to add a little bit we can. Hopefully, under your guidance, it will go a long way to helping Ghanaians,” he said.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Fund, Administrator Obuobia Darko-Opoku expressed profound gratitude to the Melcom Care Foundation for what she described as a “huge gesture.”

The 2025 Melcom blood drive, in partnership with the National Blood Service (NBS), was a resounding success, reaching a record 2,952 units, surpassing the previous record of 2,184.

The annual Melcom blood donation exercise has made significant contributions to the national blood bank, helping to ensure a steady supply of blood for patients in need. The exercise also highlights Melcom's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its role as a responsible corporate citizen.

Melcom looks forward to continuing its partnership with the National Blood Service and other healthcare institutions to make a positive impact on society.

The Melcom Care Foundation, as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, has donated a variety of food items to the Office of the National Chief Imam to support the Muslim community during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The donation, valued at over GH₵ 500,000, included 300 bags of Platinum Jasmine Rice (45kg), 300 bottles of Platinum Sunflower Oil (5L), 2,400 packs of Happy Flakes Cube Sugar, 2,400 packs of Seara Chicken Sausage, 3,600 packs of Milkana Spreadable Milk Cheese, and 600 bottles of Poppiz Sparkling White Grape Wine. Additionally, 1,000 Iftar meals consisting of fried rice and chicken were provided for the evening's fast-breaking.

This gesture continues the Foundation’s annual tradition of supporting the Office of the National Chief Imam and the broader Muslim community during the Ramadan season.
