INTRODUCING ... a program that first took shape at Ngleshie Amanfro Senior High School as a modest after-school workshop known as “The 101 Initiative.” It sprung from the recognition that many students had thoughtful ideas about social and community issues but often struggled to translate those ideas into clear, structured writing.

Through regular practice and guidance, these sessions helped interested students strengthen their academic writing skills, enabling them to perform better academically while also developing the ability to write thoughtful commentary on social issues.

What began as a small, informal effort is now evolving into a more structured and ambitious program: THE COMMON PROSE PROJECT. It seeks to create spaces where young people can develop strong writing skills and engage meaningfully in social commentary, civic expression, and public discourse.
