*Topic: The Son Of Man Must Suffer Many things*
Text: Mark 8:31

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

The Jews of Jesus' time understood about the glory of the Messianic Kingdom, but they seldom understood that the Messiah would also suffer and die for the sins of the world. When Jesus openly declared this, Peter began to rebuke him and say these things must not occur. But Jesus rebuked Peter. Jesus came into the world to be God's suffering Servant and to lay down his life as a ransom for many.

*Prayer*

O Father, you have called us to be servants and often called us to suffer. You do not allure the world with promises of health and wealth but offer us a cross. If suffering for you offends us, we are not of the right spirit of mind. Humble us, Lord, for why should we be "too good" to suffer when even your Son suffered so much? Amen.

*Topic: God Revives The Humble In Spirit*
Text: Isaiah 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

God isn't here to condemn us – even though we deserve it as a result of our sinful nature. From the beginning of time, even after the fall of Man, God has always been there for those who call out to Him. Before Jesus came to the earth, the Israelites were always falling into trouble as a result of their unbelief and disobedience. They even worshipped idols. But when they cried out to God for help, He would never hold it against them. He would rescue them and set them back on their feet time and time again.

*Prayer*

Dear God, I am grateful for Your love and Your patience which You give so freely. Thank you, Father, for always being there for me – even in the times I did not know You. You are a gracious Father who is always quick to rescue His children. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

*Topic: Seek Ye The Kingdome Of God First*
Text: Luke 12:31

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The Christian should not seek first and foremost the things of this life, not even necessities like food, water, clothes, and shelter. But his or her first priority must be to seek to advance God's Kingdom. This will mean holiness of heart and life and doing what we can to spread God's Word.

*Prayer*

O Heavenly Father, it is Your good pleasure to give the Kingdom to Your "little flock" (Luke 12:32). But even as we await that future day when Your Kingdom will come to the earth, we can already be advancing Your Kingdom by winning souls to it. Keep us focused on You, Your Kingdom, and Your glory, O Lord, as we come to the end of this year and prepare to live the next year for You. Amen.

*Topic: Overcome Evil With Good*
Text: Romans 12:21

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

It is easy to render evil for evil, giving others "what they deserve." But we are called to do good even when other men don't. And often, God will use a godly example in the midst of those who do evil to win them to Him. We should not be overcome by and conformed to evil but by doing good, we should fight it and defeat it.

Prayer

Lord God Almighty, there is no evil that can overcome us while Your grace defends us, there is no evil we cannot conquer and defeat when Your grace goes with us. We know that whoever is born of God overcomes the world. We who know Your name are the true "overcomers," but only because You first overcame the world and then sent us Your Spirit to empower us. Amen.

*Topic: God Is Plenteous In Mercy*
Text: Psalms 130:7

Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

No matter who you are, you are worthy of salvation in the eyes of the Lord. No matter what you may have done in your past, you may draw comfort from the knowledge that you will find redemption. No one else may so deeply understand and forgive us than the Lord, for His love is deeper than we can ever possibly hope to fathom.

*Prayer*

Gracious Lord, I have come to You in prayer, to ask for Your grace and forgiveness. For plenteous is Your redemption and deep is Your love and mercy for all of Your faithful, following the footsteps of Your only begotten son. Count me among them Lord, Your child and Your servant, Your devotee and receiver of Your everlasting mercy. Amen.

*Topic: For My Strength Is Make Perfect In Thee*
Text,: 2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Humbleness in the eyes of the Lord is a good thing. Boasting in any case, is often very close to actual lying, as one tendency in boasting is to exaggerate its subject until it begins to fail to even resemble its original version of events. Jesus trusted disciples of humble nature to initially reveal Himself to, whilst He chose the poor and wretched of the earth who had nothing to boast about to heal, wash and teach. His humble children are His best, for they also regard themselves as not higher than others, but know that stood before God we are all equally His children.

*Prayer*

Dear God who art in Heaven, thank you for the gifts and grace shone upon all Your children. Grant the faithful -if they truly hear You call, the ability to be humble in all they do. For I know myself that all that I have and have achieved, have been through Your divine hand and grace; and all I will ever continue to do, is permitted only through Your love and will. Keep me thus, as a servant equal with all others, within Your breast and embrace. Amen.

Bless You All Shalom

*TOPIC: I AM THE DOOR OF THE SHEEPS*
TEXT: JOHN 10:7,9-10

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Sheep occur frequently in Biblical references as it is represented for many at the time a familiar and relatable image of an animal which had great significance for many households, tied intimately to their income and survival. They were precious extensions to one's family. Whilst the profession of a shepherd is not seen much today, it still serves nevertheless as an apt metaphor for the followers of the Lord, who rely on his grace and compassion within the wilderness. Wolves, as in the above passage in relation to thieves, were constant threats to the flock, stealing away what they could. As the famous parable of the lost sheep perhaps best illustrates, a good shepherd will stop at nothing to retrieve a member of their flock, for each is as precious as the others. This is perhaps most significantly what John means; if we are lost, we may be redeemed. Thus, we may live life more abundantly, knowing that our savior will not abandon us. A life without God however, of straying willingly towards ignorance, grants us only impoverishment, of isolation and fear.

*Prayer*

In Jesus' name I pray, for He is my shepherd and the light within the barren wilderness. Lead me to Your pastures freely, where I may be safe under Your salvation, and happy in the knowledge that should I stray, my savior will find me. Grant me thus Lord, a life of abundance. Abundant in Your love for the fellowship of the faithful. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

*Topic: For Christ Hath Once Suffered For Sins*
Text: 1 Peter 3:18

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Though Jesus has imparted wisdom to millions of His followers through his words, it is sometimes worth remembering that His ultimate lesson was that of His suffering and sacrifice upon the cross. Through Him, God brought forth His covenant with man, to purge our sins in His blood.

*Prayer*

Father of Heaven, who gave His only begotten son, I thank you for Your sacrifice. May we praise the name of Christ in the highest, for dying upon the cross to give us the gift of grace and freedom. May the unjust be cleansed, and upon the cross our souls be forgiven. May the blood You shed not be in vain but be always with us, as the rising sun, shining down on all man the message of salvation. Amen.

Bless you all Shalom

*Topic: Giving All Diligence To You Faith Virtues*
Text: 2 Peter 1:5-8

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Diligence; faith; virtue; knowledge; temperance; patience; godliness; brotherly kindness; charity. Did you get all of that? Try your best, believe in God, and it will be all that you want to do.

*Prayer*

Thank you for giving me a clear path to righteousness, gracious and faithful God. My efforts have been weak at times, I know this, and it is with this prayer that I promise You that I shall be more diligent, virtuous, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Jesus Christ has shown me the path, and it is my choice whether or not to follow it. I pray to You today and all of my days: I shall take the righteous path. Amen.

Bless you all Shalom
