NAIMOS has cracked down on illegal mining in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region. On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the task force responded swiftly to reports of indiscriminate destruction of cocoa farms, forests, and water bodies in Benkasa and Amomaso communities. Five excavators were seized, and equipment used for illegal mining were destroyed. Two pump action guns and seven cartridges were also seized. The inhabitants of the affected communities are celebrating the swift response. NAIMOS has appealed for continued reporting of illegal mining activities and vows to intensify raids against reckless illegal mining.
