Today, we celebrate one of our remarkable girls with a physical disability as she graduates from preschool. While many see a graduation gown, we see courage, determination, supportive educators, and a family that chose to believe in her potential.

To every parent raising a child with a disability: believe in your child. Give them the opportunity to learn, grow, make friends, and discover who they can become. Never allow a diagnosis to define their future.

To schools and educators: keep opening your doors. Inclusive education is not charity. It is every child's right. When children with disabilities are welcomed, supported and given the opportunity to participate, they flourish.

To society: see ability before disability. Every child deserves to be seen, included and celebrated.

And to our little graduate, this is only the beginning. Today, you graduated from preschool. Tomorrow, the possibilities are endless.

Today marks an important milestone in the journey of the SCF CP Heroes Awards 2026.

We are honoured to announce that the National Council on Persons with Disability (NCPD) has agreed to support the maiden edition of the SCF CP Heroes Awards, which will be organised under the auspices of the Council.

This follows a productive meeting with the Executive Secretary and his team, where we shared our vision of creating a national platform that celebrates the resilience, achievements and contributions of persons living with Cerebral Palsy while promoting disability inclusion across Ghana.

The Council welcomed the initiative and expressed its commitment to working with us to make the Awards a meaningful platform for advocacy, recognition and empowerment.

This is more than an endorsement of an event—it is an encouragement to every child, young person, adult, caregiver and advocate within the Cerebral Palsy community that your stories matter, your achievements deserve recognition, and your voices deserve to be heard.

We are deeply grateful to the National Council on Persons with Disability for believing in this vision and for partnering with us on this journey.

The work continues, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates as we count down to 6th October 2026.

Together, let's celebrate Ghana's CP Heroes.

COURTESY MEETING WITH SALSIA CARES FOUNDATION (SCF)

The National Council on Persons with Disability (NCPD) held a courtesy meeting with representatives of the Salsia Cares Foundation (SCF) to discuss the maiden edition of the Salsia Cares Foundation CP Heroes Awards 2026, an initiative dedicated to recognising and celebrating the achievements, resilience, and contributions of persons living with Cerebral Palsy (CP) in Ghana.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss the vision and objectives of the Awards, its significance as a platform for disability advocacy and public awareness, and avenues for strategic collaboration to advance the inclusion and empowerment of persons living with Cerebral Palsy.

The engagement concluded with a shared commitment to promoting disability inclusion and recognising the remarkable accomplishments of persons with Cerebral Palsy. The National Council on Persons with Disability welcomed the initiative and expressed its support for the successful organisation of the maiden Salsia Cares Foundation CP Heroes Awards 2026 under the auspices of the Council. Both parties also explored collaborative approaches to ensure that the Awards become a sustainable platform for advocacy, recognition, empowerment, and public education on Cerebral Palsy in Ghana.

The National Council on Persons with Disability remains steadfast in its commitment to partnering with stakeholders to advance the rights, dignity, inclusion, and full participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of national development.

Building the SCF CP Heroes Awards, One Partnership at a Time

Every meaningful movement is strengthened through collaboration.

You probably found this page because someone shared one of our videos.

Maybe you saw a child with special needs smiling.

Maybe you watched us in a school.

Maybe you came across a caregiver telling their story.

Or perhaps you're wondering...

"What exactly is Salsia Cares Foundation?"

So let us tell you.

SCF was never created to exist on social media.

It exists because, somewhere in Ghana today, a caregiver is wondering if anyone understands.

A parent is struggling to accept a diagnosis.

A child with a disability is being underestimated.

A family feels forgotten.And someone has to remind them that they are not alone.

That is where we come in.

Since becoming a registered non-profit organization in 2025, SCF has worked with one mission—to promote belongingness for individuals with disabilities while empowering the caregivers who walk this journey with them every single day.

We've walked into communities to educate people about autism, cerebral palsy, hearing loss and other disabilities.

We've entered schools to promote inclusion and dignity.

We've screened children, supported caregivers, celebrated abilities through fashion and creativity, provided menstrual hygiene education to girls with special needs, and created opportunities for caregivers to learn income-generating skills.

We've stood behind microphones on radio and television because awareness changes attitudes.

We've partnered with organizations that believe inclusion should not just be spoken about but should be lived.

We've built a caregiver support community where families find encouragement, practical support and the reassurance that someone truly understands.

And we're only getting started.

This year, we'll make history with the maiden SCF CP Heroes Awards, a platform that will celebrate the achievements of persons living with Cerebral Palsy and honour the caregivers, advocates and institutions helping to build a more inclusive Ghana.

Everything we do points to one vision:

A world where every ability is embraced and every person belongs.
