REFLECTIONS FOR A NEW MONTH
By Professor Douglas Boateng
As we step into a new month, let us also step into a renewed mindset.
At sixty nine, Ghana stands as a pioneering republic in Africa’s modern political liberation movement. Political freedom was courageously achieved. Economic freedom, however, remains unfinished, not for lack of resources, but often because of a captured mindset that limits ambition and normalises underperformance.
Ghana is old enough to recognise her missteps and wise enough to correct them. Progress, even when gradual, is better than stagnation. Movement, however measured, is wiser than prideful stillness.
This month, let conscience outrank convenience.
Merit must outweigh loyalty. Competence must rise above noise. Public responsibility must never become a private reward.
From Cape Town to Casablanca and from Dakar to Nairobi, destinies are interconnected. Political liberation opened the door. Discipline, productivity, and generational thinking must now carry the nation and continent forward.
Ghana must adapt rather than merely adopt. Unity must be practical and measurable. Delivery must matter more than declarations. Legacy must matter more than applause.
The best of Ghana is not behind us. It is ahead and within reach, if purpose is chosen over pride and nation over self.
Stay inspired.
